Okay I'm not the most computer savvy guy out there, but I just got my level 3 vanguard 2... I had to buy a wireless network adapter.. got on my network, and I'm downloading League of legends (not a demanding game) and World of warcraft (It's 10 years old now) and both of them are downloading at 0-10kbps.... if I only have one of them going it's 100-150kbps.. why is this killing my bandwidth so bad? on my crappy labtop (the computer I'm writing this on) I can have pandora playing, youtube vids, world of warcraft patching while I'm playing league of legends and no bandwidth issues whatsoever... Any insight as to what I should correct here?
The wireless adapter I have is "Linksys wireless-AC mini usb adapter ae6000" |

What download speed do you get if you only have one program downloading at a time?

Those mini USB dongles can be easily interfered with. Try using a USB extension cable to bring the dongle away from the pc case, especially if the case is between your router and the dongle. Sometimes they won't work at all with an ext cable, however.
Try a different USB port, front if using the back and vice versa. Some setups need p2p, peer to peer, disabled in the ISP or dongle's setups, usually under the Connections tab. Try different settings. Any other wifi devices nearby? Turn them off just to check. Phones, headphones, baby monitor, speakers.... Are you using a USB hub, with other devices in it or sharing the power? This sounds like a setup problem but its tough to say. Good luck. |

Also does you motherboard have an extra PCI slot for a network card? if so then you should diffidently switch to that in the future.

Tried using the usb in the front and back of the tower, same result, slow speeds and sometimes they just taper off until they're at 0kbps... womp. had it 2 days now and haven't even been able to install a game

You could try the adapter in another computer. If you have another desktop or a laptop, disable the current connection type that that system uses and try it with the adapter. If it doesn't work i would recommend contacting linksys and consider using a network card, if you have an extra PCI slot for it.

I was having similar issues with my Vanquish II... turns out I needed a new router.
If you can, hardwire the computer to your router and then directly to your modem. This will help you get a little closer to which piece is failing to perform.
Yes, it's a pain to lug the PC around to the boxes, but in the end you'll have a more definate answer.

when my new d.s. computer arrived a few months back i was so excited i forgot to screw in the wireless antenna on setup. was getting a kbps download rate instead of mbps rate. after troubleshooting everything from drivers to router i discovered my rushed stupidity. haha, oops.
