was wondering which cpu to get Q6600 or E8400 dont overclock
and looking for something to be ready for a couple of years? and what am i losing Q6600 2.6 or E8400 3.0 thanks

Both Chips overclock well, though you dont wanna do that so okay.
 
The E8400 is better for games now but the Q6600 is more future proofed, being somewhat slower in games right now, but that is only because most games have yet to be made to support more then 2 cores, that will probably change sometime in the future...when i cant really say.
 
They both are great chips. They are priced almost the same for a reason, they leave it up to the buyer to decide what they want. Quad cores work well with editing and various things, but slightly slower in games, duels are faster in games right now and the slightly slower in editing due to only having 2 cores vs 4.
 
So its up to you.
