I'm looking at the vanquish for my first desktop PC in ages. I'm a casual gamer playing games like--wow, Guild wars 2, CS GO, Skyrim)...a occasional session lasting more then an hour or so.
This will mostly be used with ableton live, and music production. I am serenely pleased with my laptop purchase from Digital Storm, so I hope to be a returning customer. Thanks for your time in advance! |

I am assuming that the level 4 will move to a GTX 970 once the GTX 770's are gone since that card has been discontinued.
In which case if you can manage a level 4 when that change happens that would be the one I would get. |

I would, as well, like to point out if you have the budget for it, the Ultimate Vanquish II would be the best bang for your buck. I have played Skyrim (heavily modded) and even at the worst of times can pull 45fps. (As for length of gaming sessions, for the first 30some days of owning this machine, I put in 300+ in Skyrim.) The only games I am currently playing that stress the Lvl4 with the 770 are games such as Rust that are not optimized yet. I have full faith that when the game is released as optimized I won't see those problems again. And, as Ariktu mentioned, DS has a stock of GTX770s that they have to go through before they can install the new 970s. If you wish to wait until then, it's your call. But the 770s are still one heck of a GPU.To answer your question directly, which level Vanquish to get: Again, if your budget allows, the Ultimate Level 4.

Definitely can't go wrong with the Lvl4, its one heck of a machine for the price they ask for.

I personally feel the vanquish 4 is overpriced right now since the gtx 970 is out and there are also newer cpu's out. If you built yourself you could pay the same but with newer updated parts.
As far the games you play, the vanquish level 3 would rock all those games with the gtx 760. Not sure about the musicical stuff as I don't use those programs. |

Now with the new models I was wondering if there was much of a difference between stage 1 and 2.
I have recently gotten into Assassins creed: Black Flag so I would hope to run that. I don't know much about AMD systems or cards. Thanks again for your help guys!!! |

Hi bendrake.... There's a huge difference in gaming between the lvl 1 & 2, almost 50% in alot of games.
Here's a link that compares.... http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1044?vs=1043 The level 2 also has a larger power supply for any future expansion and the larger HDD. The level 1 will still game good, but in- game settings would be a bit lower. |

wow that's a huge difference.
Do you think level 2 would be enough power? I've done some research on the cpus...and level twos 6 core 3.9ghz seems to be a great cpu. Edited by bendrake - 16 Oct 2014 at 7:10am |

The r9 270x in the level 2 is is a real nice card, about the same performance as the gtx 760 in the level 3. The level 3 does have a better cpu, but the 6350 in lvl 2 will work just fine.
If you're gaming on a 1920x1080 monitor, the level 2 will have no issues. You won't max out settings in all games, but some you can. |

I'm coming from a digital storm (xm11) laptop running games at 1366x768...and its struggling with new games. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the level two. I wonder if they will have benchmarks posted soon?

I mentioned updating the Vanquish Benchmarks, but that was when just the lvl 4 was changed. Alex said soon, but he was waiting for the lvl 1 &2 changes I'm sure. They'll get to it.
