Budget:
750-950 USD Usage: The only game I really ever play is Guild Wars 2. But I play it a lot. And would like to on high settings, 1920x1080. Is the Vanquish II level 1 enough? Edited by razuo - 20 Jun 2014 at 4:24pm |

I've never played GW2 but my understanding is that its very cpu heavy. The Vanquish level 1 and 2 have a dual core processor and the level 3 and 4 a quad core. The Vanquish 1 or 2 will play GW2 on your resolution but not sure if High would stand up if 50fps or better is needed.
The Vanquish 3 pushes your budget to the max but the 4 core cpu is better. The gtx 760 is also about 50-60% better gaming performance. Any Vanquish will play GW2, but the better levels will play better and give more longevity. Good Luck. |

Indeed, very CPU heavy. GW2 is all I really play, so I don't want to overdo it on a machine that has more power than I need. Although I guess there is an argument to be made that I'll expand my gaming if I have greater performance. That is the Vanquish appeal, for me. In any case, I could not find any passmark rating for the i3, and I do feel that, that may be bottoming a bit too much. The Level 3 sounds like the best value within the tiers of an already value-oriented rig. Going on the passmark CPU and GPU marks/$ price. Marks also indicate CPU performance (on single thread) and GPU performance exceeding marks of the cpu and gpu combo posted above, from player of my particular game. I think I'll just go with your advice and hit the ceiling of my budget. Thanks!! Edited by razuo - 21 Jun 2014 at 10:05am |

Ah! a CPU + GPU combo with anecdote is what I was looking for, for comparison. Thanks!! Think I'll be going with the Level 3. |

Sorry if my post may have seemed overly narrow/crude. But it's always nice to get even minimal help or validation when making these sorts of purchases. I'm a nervous shopper. Just learned of DS, and I'm enjoying all I'm learning. Thanks for the help.

I saw no problem with your postings. It's all good on the DS forums.
The Vanquish level 3 is one of the best deals around. Let us know how it goes. |

I have a friend who is addicted to GW2 and he recently purchased a Vanquish 3. I haven't seen or heard from him ever since he pushed that play button on max settings.
Go with Digital Storm, it is the best decision regarding PC buying you will ever make. - Xii |

So my order was processed on Monday, June 23, but because of high demand there is a delay! Now, within 24-48 hours of my order being processed, an additional promo item was added to the Vanquish II, Level 3 configuration: a free Intel bundle. Given the timing of the addition and my delay, would it be unreasonable to expect or request that this additional promotional item now be included in my order of the Level 3? This isn't meant to be a complaint of any kind, I'm still very much looking forward to my order -- I understand how demand might cause delay. But... if I had only waited a day! Thanks for any guidance.
