Now im planning on overhauling my pc in the next few years, or i was wondering if i should get a gtx 970 now, becuase im hearing good things about it. If i were to get one, would i need to get anything to help it with my system. Like a new Power unit or a better processor so it doesnt bottlekneck.

PS: my vanquisher i completely stock right now

You should have no issue since you have the 600 watt Corsair unit and it should be fine for the GTX 970.

Upgrading depends if your gtx 760 is giving you the gaming you need. The 760 is a strong card. If it's performing then wait. Every year or so new cards are released. If it's not keeping up then the 970, or a gtx 960 maybe released next month is the way to go.

Well do you think the vanquisher II level 3 would be able to run shadow of mordor?

Personally I think it would be better to wait until the next video card series comes out. I dont see huge improvements in benchmarking in the 900 series compared to the 770.

About the only upgrade would be to the i7-4790 if you needed it's added hyperthreading for multi tasking, etc but that's an expensive upgrade for a small bump.

Upgrading to a "k" chip like i7-4790k allows overclocking on some motherboards but the one in Vanquish doesn't give you overclocking.

The next cpu generation might be Broadwell, after this Haswell, and it's pin count might fit, but it's rumored to need a new motherboard for its new chipset to make use of the added features.

What's your budget? Are you overclocking it?

Overclocking isnt essential, though for most good processors im going to have to get a new motherboard anyways. Budget i guess can be anywhere reasonable

Yup if you want to overhaul your vanquish ll, best bet is to wait for the broadwell chipsets and a new flagship GPU. My hopefull guess is some info on those Q4 2015.
