Hi,

Worth upgrading the 
Digital Storm Desktop 655833

from 8GB to 16GB?  Is this orderable here, or shop elsewhere 
for the RAM upgrade?  How much ram can I configure with this model?

From your other post, you have the H81M-D/E mobo which has 2 DIMM slots.  That mobo allows expansion up to 16GB.   You'd have to swap out the 2x 4gb sticks for 2x 8gb sticks.  

You can have DS sell you some or just go to Kingston, Corsair, etc and get them there.  Either way works.   DDR3, 1600/1333.  The timing is probably 9-9-9-24.      You can use a site also like Crucial.com to scan your rig with its memory configuration and suggest the ram you can use.

Whether you need it depends on your usage.  For most gaming, 8GB is all you need.  If you're doing Virtual then the added ram might help.
