I want to get an SSD, the question is 1 or 2?

Should I get 1TB SSD and partition it so that I can have the OS on one partition and everything else on the other. Or should I get 2; 1 120GB for OS, and 1 750GB for everything else.

The reason I want to do this is for backup and security purposes. Meaning if the time comes to reformat I will be able to keep everything that I downloaded.

Also on a sidenote, when installing drivers and such should those go on the SSD with the OS or put it with all the other stuff?

Thank you.

For backup and security I would go for option B, two drives. Partitioning an SSD is more for easier file management then actual file location. Not the same as on a HDD. Plus if the SSD dies then it all dies just not one of the partitions.

I would send the drivers to the OS drive.

Well I have that 1TB SSD, and so far no problems. Oh, and no partition.

I'd just look at pricing and performance. I know the new 850 Pro's from Samsung (Samsumg SSD's are the only ones I'll ever use) had the 1TB cheaper than the 750GB SSD's. Unless pricing isn't an issue for you. I'd say buy a nice 840 Evo 250gb for your Primary and a nice 840 EVO 750GB or 850 Pro 750gb for the best combo.

Price isn't an issue. So I will be going with option B. Thanks guys.
