I am getting a new SSD for Christmas and as a result have the adventure of re-installing windows 7 on it to speed up my pc. I have an ODE V2 level 1 btw. Anyways I just want to check a few things, as this is my first try at re-installing windows.
First, I want to double check that when i re-install the OS on my SSD, the overclock will remain. Also I recall something about DS giving a stripped down version of windows 7? Will the disk provided do that for me or do I need additional instruction? I mostly have this for steam gaming which is easy to install(just time consuming). But I also have Microsoft office and Norton security. I don't want to lose those either, how do I keep them? Also let me know of any other programs that may be an issue as well! Thank you! |

The OC parameters are kept by the BIOS, not Windows, so there is no problem there.
DS does not ship a "stripped down" version of Windows. They do the initial install of Windows with no bloat( third party junk ). The disk you have/get is a complete Windows version. You will have to reinstall Office and Norton, where did you get them? You should have install disks or downloaded installers. If you downloaded the installers, copy them to a flash drive and reinstall them after you have Windows up and running. Edited by Nomad1970 - 04 Dec 2013 at 8:32pm |
