Hi Guys,
It's been a while since I've purchased a desktop (usually use business class laptops for work and gaming laptops for personal use) and am purchasing the system bellow, where I don't usually have the option to swap out components other than memory I was wondering where I'm likely to need to upgrade the system in the future when the system is being used for the following: 1)Computer Programming 2)Disassembling Exe files (scanning for viruses etc) 3)Graphic Intensive MMOs in PvP areas i.e. Lots of players & effects Going to be using my 50" in my livingroom as a monitor but am open to any suggestions about good wireless keyboards & mice too as I'd prefer people not tripping over the wires all the time. Looks good I would want a secondary hard drive , but if your short on money you could add that later.
I will not say you will not get a drop in FPS in High player density areas with a lot going on.. I know many players who have 5000$ dollar and higher rigs who see a Drop in the FPS in these areas, but they still should be playable. I tried using my 60 inch flat TV screen as a monitor once.. Maybe my settings were off but I just did not like it. Monitors are the area I am least knowledgeable on.. I usually ask my more computer literate friends for good recommendations. |

I use an LG UHD TV as my monitor. The only really issue with using it as a monitor is that the LCD panel isn't right up against the backlight, so the edges seem to float and the very edge is not lit up when up close. Things to make sure of when using a TV as a monitor: put it into a game mode to reduce input latency (this is the same as to what you should do with consoles) and turn off scaling and use a scan mode for the aspect ratio (do not use 16:9, even it your TV is a 16:9 because those modes can crop off the edges for overscanning).
I have a GTX 970 FTW and it plays Assassin's Creed Unity fine at 1080p (high settings) or 2160p (low settings). That game can sometimes render 5000 individual characters in a scene where there are crowds of people. Edited by - 01 Dec 2014 at 6:56pm |
