I picked up my Vanquish one year ago today. I remember the drive to Fremont and the guys in the back at Will Call (after I got to the correct door!!)

I am as impressed with this Vanquish today as I was when I first plugged it in. That first month, logging in 300 hours in a HEAVILY modded Skryim, I was very pleased to see the machine never broke a sweat. Beautiful graphics, fantastic FPS and just one of the best experiences.

My old stand-by game, World of Tanks (that I was playing at the bare minimum on my old machine) absolutely floored me when I pushed everything up to high/ultra and watched as this new machine never stuttered once in heavy tank furballs. I saw the turrets blow off a tank for the first time and just sat there, stared at it, and giggled like a schoolchild.

Old games (Fallout 3, New Vegas)... New games (Shadow of Mordor)... everything is just fantastic.

I've never been happier with any other purchase in my recollection. One year later and I'm still very pleased that I found Digital Storm and their products.

Next stop. Aventum III in Envy Green... if I can convince "she who must be obeyed". If not, I'm perfectly happy with anything that DS makes as I know I am getting the "most bang for the buck".

Nice !

Mine is just coming up to 4 months but I've logged almost 1200 hours of screen smashing gaming and the internet of things. Looking forward to writing a similar review at my one year mark. At this time I have to give kudos to DS because I haven't broken this thing yet and don't see that in the near future!

Vanquish II Ultimate.

Snaike, I have similar feelings. Approaching 8 months. Been fantastic. As my first gaming PC I wanted to see what all the fuss was about concerning PC over console (always been a console guy). I haven't touched my console in 4 months. No joke. Obviously my console has its place, but every single time I think about a game on console I end up buying it on PC.

Only one hitch, I now have a craving for more. More gaming. More power. More.......I already have an itch to buy a $2500+ rig. My goal is to wait at least until this time next year, but I have no idea if I can make it. Once I get that itch to buy, I have to work really hard not to. And add in the fact that DS has been great to me and that even when I did have a problem with the PSU, they took care of it quickly. I already have my preliminary set-up printed out. Probably shouldn't have done that.....lol.

LOL... you're telling me? I've been all over looking at bigger and better and shinier and cooler and power and more power and even more power.. I've even priced out an envy green Aventum II a few times.. well, I say 'a few' but I really me at least 2 dozen...

I, too, have a hard time with that 'itch'... but, luckily (or some would say unluckily) I have "She who must be obeyed" watching out for my better interests.

It's really hard to justify to her how I need bigger, faster, stronger and better when she sees me just giggling away like a schoolgirl when I get a new game on this one. The only way I got this machine is because she saw how miserable the old one made me. I just can't be miserable on this Vanquish. I've tried. She saw through it.

LOL.. Carry on.

I don't think that itch can ever be scratched fully, because there will always be something newer and shinier. Luckily I'm like Snaike, "She who must not be named" gets full control over my tech vices, she let's me get my fix but makes sure I don't overdose. Back in October I sold a bit of land and had an extra $12,000 coming my way, took 3 weeks to actually get the money in the bank..... You should see the rigs i put together in that 3 weeks, I started at mid-range around $2500, but every single time I ended up building a monster. She finally felt the need to step in and say $5,000 and not a penny more. I love my Apollo like a mother loves a child, but every now and then when she's not looking I still look at all the wonderful upgrade options out there :)

Haha, yeah true. I don't have she who must not be named so my check is to set a budget at $2,500 so that when I get done having fun in a reasonable fashion, it is more like $3,000, so that after I add those last few things at the end the final bill is somewhere around $3,200-3,500 :)

I am horribly impatient lol, and had been dreaming of my computer for so long, I paid for a priority build and expedited shipping to Alaska, which was a little over $800. Yes I could have gotten a lot more computer with that $800, BUT I don't regret it lol, took 4 days from the time I ordered to the time I was unpacking my baby.

California to Alaska ... expedited shipping or more computer....

Tough choices. Tough choices, indeed.

The wait is the worst part! $800 well spent in my book (if you have the means to do so, which you obviously did).
