I had some issues with my computer not being able to start up, had a friend of mine who knew what he was doing help me out... ended up flashing the computer. Since then I can't overclock my processor like I originally had DS do when I first bought it. I've tried loading the profile 1 they had saved into my BIOS and my computer won't start up anymore if I do. Manually tried doing it as well to no avail. Downloaded a 3rd party program to see if that would do the tricks but the computer just wigs out if I do. Any help or anyone experienced similar issues?

I don't do my own overclocking so can't help there, but I would check out your ram sticks. Bad sticks can cause your initial problem and trying to overclock or restore oc later. Try one stick at a time and try running Memtest86 from disc to check them out.
Good luck. |

If DS originally applied the OC, they can help you get it back, i'd give them a call. :)

First off, never use third party software. I realize companies like ASUS are making these desktop applications that allow you to OC your CPU straight from your desktop. And while I do believe some day we will be able too, I strongly am against at the moment.
The only overclocking I condone is overclocking done directly in the bios. Now, there are a lot of things that could go into this OC. Your CPU isn't exactly new. It's 4 generations old. It has quite the age on it, and so does your motherboard. So that could have something to do with it's inability to had it's original OC. It could also be other factors. Perhaps your bios doesn't save full setting changes in profiles like it should, and you could have some fine tweaking to do after you load the profile to get the bios to stick. Perhaps the profile is corrupted, or your motherboard is just finally starting to die that is causing it to fail. You really only safe bet is to call digital storm and have them walk you through the OC application for your specific set up. You might have to send it in. Best case, they help you tweak what you're missing and you get your OC back, worst case... time to run stock, your computer is getting old (no offense) and it's just having trouble justifying that overclock... who knows... I do wish you the best of luck. It's hard to have sympathy on this because of the age, but at the same time, I can understand that because of the age you want to squeeze every bit of performance you can out of your system. Good luck. |

My Digital Storm computer was over 5 years old and I lost my OC and I just contacted DS and they helped me get the OC back with no hassle. Give them a call and let them help you get back the OC that they originally set up for you.

Hey, been awhile. I appreciate the replies, sorry for not getting back to them... I have since upgraded basically most of my pc, except for my processor and motherboard. I am waiting for intels next gen processor to come out before I use the money for either, I upgraded to liquid cooling, upgraded my RAM, my gfx card my hard drive and also added a SSD. I have since been able to overclock my cpu to 3.7 ghz and it purrs like a kitten.

Have you ever heard a kitten purr? It's the sound of an undeveloped rough purr that shakes their whole body.
