Topic: Help with Config for Business Computer Posted: 16 Apr 2011 at 4:00pm |
Hello,
I am looking for suggestions on either a new configuration or suggestions for modifications to the one below. I am looking for a computer that is quiet, small footprint, and is able to accomodate 20 simultaneous windows open in a internet browser, with Adobe Acrobat and Excel and Word useage.
I never want to have to wait on my computer, but I want the computer to be always waiting for me to make keyboard inputs. I don't play any games, but I want a graphics card that is at least able to play modestly, a few games here and there, maybe WOW on a 30" screen. I will hardly ever be playing games.
Hope you will make some suggestions for a configuration for a computer!

- I must have over 20 tabs or more open in Firefox on a daily basis, and I rarely will go over 3GB usage....ehehe
- That's going to one BLAZING fast office computer...just fyi...kind of overkill if you ask me if it's just for office haha. - 250GB SSD? My recommendation is a 120GB Intel 320 series SSD, controller's had a better legacy and reputation, and it should be more than enough. Having a bigger capacity SSD is pointless if you really don't need to put that much on it, I'm not sure what'll be good to load up on that much space. - Overclocking on stock coolers isn't recommended in my opinion. IMHO, a H70 is probably all you need, and it accommodates that case's form factor well. Larger coolers will fit, but I dunno, it just looks odd and I think since smaller cases like that are more prone to shifting, it's not too good of a choice. I have over 50 taps open at any given time, but which browser you use makes a difference also, chrome for example is the worst, and uses crazy amount of ram.
