Hey everyone,

Just wondering what's the difference between the 4TB Western Digital - Black Edition & the 6TB Seagate.

I know there's bigger capacity of course, but in some posts that other people have posted then people have suggested the WD, what's the difference?

I'm going with 4x 4TB WD - Black edition in Raid 10, so 50% capacity is usable & the performance is enhanced.

But if I go with Raid 10 on 4x 6TB Seagate I'd have 12TB space in total instead of 8TB.

So I've tried to find the differences on those 2 HDD's on the web, but I can't really find it. So if anyone can assist me ere, that would be great.

Testing I've seen shows the Western Digital to be more reliable and also has a much longer warranty.....WD Black has 5 years and the Seagate either 2 or 3 years.

I only use Western Digital hard drives and samsung SSD's.

Black Editions are tested to be the best of the best in terms of components used, life span, etc.

The one time I ever bought a Seagate, I ended up sending it back due to a clicking sound it made.

The difference here is one is bigger than the other. But one is of higher build quality than the other. Seagate's use to be really good, but in my opinion they've fallen off in the past couple of years.
