Hi All,

I recently purchased the Vanquish level 3 and downloaded Far Cry 4. On my first few attempts to run the game it has been very laggy even when running it on medium settings. Is there a certain configuration process I should be going through prior to playing games on this PC? I am new to gaming pc's and just looking for any help or advice.

Thanks

Put it on high and then dial back Anti-Aliasing to 2x or FXAA and see what happens

Okay I will try this and see how things go. I tried again earlier after installing nvidia software and using their optimized settings and got what seemed to be about 10 frames/sec which obviously looked atrocious.

Thanks for the help.

I found this fix. Not sure it'll help, but worth a shot.

Navigate to the Far Cry 4 config file, which is typically located at My Documents\My Games\Far Cry 4\[account id name]\GamerProfile.xml and open it with WordPad or any other text editor.

Search for “DisableLoadingMip0="0"” and change the second 0 to a 1, so it should read “DisableLoadingMip0="1"”.

Hey man, what you're experiencing is software related. I have a level 3 Apollo and experience this as well. It's also documented in a Youtube video by the use Totalbiscuit and around the 11:00 minute mark he comments on it.

Did you buy this through Steam or straight though Uplay? If you go to the Steam forums and search stuttering, there will be two major threads that come up. In one, an actual developer(not a moderator) actually responded to a few questions on the matter and she said they were aware of it and working on it.

That fix that was posted is also posted heavily on the Steam forums. That fix does muddy the textures some but does seem to help alleviate the issue for a good amount of people.

So no worries, your machine is fine!

Okay thank you! Thats really what I was worried about. I know Ubisoft has been having issues with their recent releases but I just wanted to make sure the machine was fine. Thanks again for your help!
