I'm debating whether or not to get my computer from X***** computers. They have similar options, similar pricing, but they have a lifetime parts warranty on their builds.
A weird question to ask, but does anybody here have any unbiased opinions about their company? I've looked through reviews, and they have generally favorable reviews, same as DS. Competitor names removed. Edited by Snaike - 07 Feb 2018 at 3:25am |

From a scientific point of view, this is probably not the best method to reach an unbiased conclusion.

No experience here either. Like how they post pics of the staff but not sure about their assembly and service.
DS frowns on us discussing the competition, this being their forum , but I’d also be curious about their service. Good luck. |

Huh, never even heard of them before. Take that for what little it's worth.
However, in the interest of being unbiased, that is a nice warranty they offer, but I strongly suggest you read §4 of their warranty, as it is extremely restrictive in comparison to what DS offers, which is admittedly shorter, but offers way less limitations. While a life time warranty sounds good in reality in almost all cases they will not have to worry about it. PCs especially gaming PCs become obsolete rather quickly. New CPUs and new GPUs come out virtually every year. New games tend to take advantage of the new hardware. This means that a PC today may not be able to even run future games in a few years.

Just read their warranty after reading Tidgxor's post and I would not buy from a company., or at least take the warranty with a grain of salt, that voids a warranty for the whole system just by upgrading or repairing any part on your own.
At DS you can upgrade the ram, video card, etc and still get parts and phone support. The particular part won't be warrantied, but they will still help troubleshoot it and cover the rest of the system. Doesn't mean X*** service is problematic but does nullify the life time parts guarantee in the real world. Like Asangard said, within 2-3 years you'll want to at least upgrade the video card. Plus, with the DS forums, you have access to individuals that will help you troubleshoot and upgrade. We don't always fix issues, but give it a good shot. Edited by bprat22 - 07 Feb 2018 at 9:40am |
