Hello. I have a Virtue with a GTX 780 and an i5 4670k overclocked to 4.2 ghz and feel like something is bogging down my pc. I ran a 3D Mark Firestrike benchmark (the one for high end pcs) and got a score of 8400. When I looked on their website it says that the 780 should get a score of 13000 or more. Could I have a virus, hardware issue, or is that normal for that type of setup? I also want to note that I have 16 GB of ram.

Thank you,
Chase

Could be a couple of things. What all is running? Maybe an antivirus of some sort is bogging it down. Have you tried doing a restart then running it? Do you have multiple monitors? Open up task manager and evga precision x to see what kind of load you're getting while running fire strike... I seem to recall though people getting like 12kish with a single gtx 980... There's a decent chance that your score is close to average.

I have gtx 780s in my living room pc. I'll disable Ali and run one card to see what I get.

Yes. I was looking at the wrong score. My score is average for my setup after all. So it is good. Thank you for your help. I want to get a 980 but am not sure it is worth the upgrade.

I ran a single GTX 780 with my 4930k @ 4.4ghz and I got a core of 9827

So, not too far off. I believe your cpu is what dropped you below me. 4 cores 4 threads, vs 6 cores 12 threads. 1k difference in score. Not bad at all.

If you look at my score though, it says my GTX 780 + 4930k out performs a GTX Titan + 4770k. To be fair though, my GTX 780 in my main slot on that motherboard is one of the best GTX 780's I've seen. I got very luck with it... err extremely lucky with it.

The GTX 980 is a very nice card. I originally didn't think it'd be worth an upgrade from a GTX 780, but I was wrong.

I'll be upgrading my main rig to either some GTX 980 Classifieds or I'll wait for the Ti variant to come out. They're about to drop the 8GB GTX 900 series cards either this month or next so we'll see.
