EVGA releases SLI Enhancement Patch

The first patch in a routine series

EVGA has announced that from now on, it will be working on an "SLI Enhancement Patch" that enables temporary SLI support in the latest game demos and full releases.

As many PC gamers know, new games are consistently being released all the time, and sometimes it can take a few weeks for Nvidia to release a driver that has SLI support. Often the games require an SLI profile in order for SLI to work, which explains why only certain driver releases work for certain games upon release.

As a solution, EVGA has decided to quickly enhance the SLI profile issues that come up with any new game demos or full release. By publicly releasing the EVGA SLI Enhancement patches, the goal is to create a one day turnaround time from the time a new demo or game is released in order to add temporary SLI support for instant playing.

In this first release, the patch will enable SLI support for the Necrovision Demo in DX10 mode as well as Burnout Paradise. EVGA recommends using the recently released GeForce 182.05 WHQL-candidate drivers, although they have stated that the patch should actually work with any recent Nvidia drivers.

As far as operating system support is concerned, the patch is only available for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 at the moment, but if there is enough demand, the company will consider support for Windows XP as well.

Furthermore, EVGA's first SLI Enhancement patch was released on February 11th and can be downloaded here
