I am considering purchasing a Digital Storm Krypton laptop, to use as my new Desktop at home.  I would like to use a docking station/Port Emulator.  What would you guys recommend using with the DS laptops?

Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Are you looking for something with tons of USB 3.0 ports, ethernet, audio, etc?

I haven't actually needed a docking station yet with my Krypton.  It has quite a few ports as it is: HDMI, DisplayPort, DisplayPort Mini for video, 4 USB ports (most or all of them 3.0), Firewire, and several audio ports for multi-channel speaker setups.

Right now I have my old CoolerMaster SF-19 laptop cooler hooked up to one of the USB ports, and that gives me 4 more USB 3.0 ports and I'm not even using the cooling fans, just the ports.  And I have my monitor plugged into DisplayPort on the laptop with the capability of plugging in another through HDMI, I think.

So as Nav asked, what kind of ports do your need?  Not everyone's going to be the same, so my kind of setup may definitely not work for you.

Thank you both for responding to me.

I am a little bit of a nub... so bear with me.  I wasn't really looking at the docking station to expand the number of ports I need, it was for convenience.  I'll be taking the laptop to work with me each day, and I would rather  not have to unplug a bunch of peripherals and the monitors.  I'd rather just be able to go from bag to desk; plugging in 1 cable to have everything hooked back up.

I just wanted something that I could use with my dual monitor display, that wouldn't affect my FPS.  Pure Convenience at this point.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you guys have.
