So I bought a Level 4 vanquish about a month ago, and started playing Diablo 3, and i can only run 15-30 frames in Diablo 3 while using the worst graphics system, Im pretty disappointing considering i spent 1400 on a computer that runs this game worse than my old laptop.... Anyone know why this is happening?

Has it been like this since you got the computer or just recently?
How do other games perform? You wouldn't be the first person to have problems with D3. Update your drivers if you haven't already. A brand new Geforce driver came out earlier this week for GTAV. Make sure you call the customer support line. 1-866-81-STORM Edited by Username2380 - 15 Apr 2015 at 3:26pm |

What is the speed and type of internet connection?
Did you try resetting the router? Is that the GTX 970 video card? Which motherboard do you have? Single player? What area? Only in boss fights or all the time? Have you run the network and connection troubleshooters? Did you try updating the networking drivers? Give us something to work with. |

What do you mean by network and connection troubleshooters? the lag is like farme based not lag I can run counterstrike fine, same with skyrim, but in diablo im just dropping frames like crazy... I did redownload diablo 3 with no sucess Thanks for your replies guys, Ide like to get this all figured out. even just standing in town doing nothing with nothing moving around me it dosent pass 34 frames. Hi Swap..... To eliminate heat as a problem on your gtx 970 that might throttle it, download HWMONITOR, free, and run it while gaming. Check the cpu core temps and the gtx 970 gpu temps. Should be in the low 80s or less in Centigrade. Ignore the Fahrenheit.
If you're not using audio through the gtx 970 HDMI to a monitor with speakers, meaning you're using seperate speakers or headphone, go into Device Manager, click on the audio section. Realtek and Nvidia audio will list. Right click and Disable all the Nvidia audio drivers. Those are only for audio passthrough for the gtx970. Adjust, turn down, audio settings in game . If you're using a monitor adapter like hdmi to dvi, vga to dvi, etc. , try a different one or use a different port on the gtx 970. Hope this helps. |

Upload speed DOES count - should be 5+Mbs with your connection. Under 3 and you have MAJOR problems.
Any bad/slow step in the chain of servers can cause low FPS due to dropped packets - connection counts a whole lot. In the game options under video - check the "max foreground FPS" box and set it to 150. Also check the "low FX" box and see if that helps. If it does, uncheck one at a time and try it to see which one helped the most. Run a tracert from an elevated command prompt. (run as administrator. This link will explain how) Replace the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with 12.129.202.154. This will show you what is happening along the way to the server. https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/performing-a-traceroute#addresses You can save the results to desktop and post it here if you like. See my other post for a hotfix to latest driver and install that. http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/nvidia-350-driver-hotfix-tidf24606/ re-post with results. NOTE: at the bottom of the page on running a tracert is a link to how to run a pathping. It will show if there is a problem with lost packets and where the losses occur. Use the same IP address as above. "Im pretty disappointing considering i spent 1400 on a computer" People with $7,000 computers are having the same problems. So Im not running my hdmi cable from my moniter to my graphics card, cause its a minihdmi on the card, so i am plugged into the one on the mother board, could this be the issue? should i get a mini cable? or a DVI cable, Have I been using my videocard at all by using this cable?
Im going to feel really stupid if thats the case, i set it up and just turned it on and didnt think about that until now... Edited by Swap - 16 Apr 2015 at 6:33pm |

Yes, that's the issue. You're using the Intel graphics on the CPU. You're not even using the dedicated graphics card. You'll get a big boost in performance.

Awesome! I just bought the same rig 3 weeks ago and was curious why your fps was so bad. Didn't DS include an adapter for your HDMI cable? They gave me one for mine. Kick ass machine DS! |

I made the same mistake when I got my Slade last year, so don't feel too bad. Fortunately, the forum community helped me figure it out too. (Thanks guys!)
