Howdy computer-guys!

So when I bought my computer from Digital storm, I selected 8gig ram option, and that was fine, and it has 8gigs, but I am now looking to upgrade it a bit, and so this is where my issue started.

I can see through the case that I have 2 out of 4 ram slots used, and I downloaded an application to tell me what exactly I had, but it wasn't exact enough for me.

I opened the case up, popped out one of the ram, and wrote everything down about it that I could. When I go to look it up online.. It turns out that I have 2 chips of a 4-chip set installed. It is supposed to be the Corsair 4x4GB set but I only have 2 out of the 4 chips actually plugged into my machine.

My question is, could I just get 2 more 4gig chips in order to finish off the original 4 chip set? or would I need to get the full set all over again?

They seem to be exactly the same chip. not only do they look identical, but they are 4gig 1.5v and 1600MHz just like the ones I have already installed.

Thanks for any help!

P.S. I was going to link exactly what they were, but it said I couldn't due to possible spam.

Current chip set:
Corsair Vengeance LP 4x4gig
CML16GX3M4A1600C9

Possible additional set:
Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4gig
CML8GX3M2A1600C9

Hi Trosh... I'm not sure what system you have ,but the 2x4gb ram is correct if you ordered a 8gb setup.    The reason the company your ordering from is mentioning a 4x4gb set of ram is I'm assuming because you want 16gb and they are showing you a matched set of sticks to get 16gb.   DS gave you 8gb on 2 sticks, so just order and identical 2x4gb, 8gb. The ' possible additional set ' should do it.

Hope this helps.

Okay, that's what I was thinking. DS actually gave me 2 chips out of a 4x4gb set, so I just wanted to be sure that adding a 2x4gb set would be ok

Just adding the additional 2 sticks should do it.
