Any suggestions on how to fix all screen tearing on Assassin's creed 3 ?......I have A X17 laptop that well exceeds the recommend requirements for Assassin's creed 3 ... I have Vsynce on in the Nvidia controls.. I have only a display defresh rate of 60 Hz.. Any other ways to lock the display refresh rate ?

I know its crazy but have you tried with the settings down a notch, or the VSYNC turned off?
Also make sure your drivers are up to date. That is a brand new game it could be developer related. Regards, Xii |

Whats a VSYNC? Is that part of the X17 default stuff? I only ask because i am considering purchasing an X17.
Side note: Im still a bit skeptical on DS.

First off. There is NO reason to be skeptical on this company. Period. I'm sure you have your reasons but I challenge you to look through the forums alone. I personally assure you that IF you had an issue, these guys would be all over it. You aren't just a customer at DS -- they treat people like important people, because we are.
Enough about that. VSync is where the software will force refreshing to the rate your monitor does (basically a monitor is like a really really fancy flipbook for the super old fashion cartoons). When VSync is disabled it allows your game to refresh as fast as it wants, resulting in better framerates. Traditionally, VSYNC should be disabled if you experience excessive screen tearing. However, I have seen the inverse also work. Side note: Digital Storm is both the best computer company I HAVE EVER dealt with (both professionally and personally) and my computer the the most amazing thing I have ever owned. See: my review if you do not believe me. Regards, Xii |

Is that a software that has to be downloaded or is it already in the X17? If i order i just want everything to be updated like drivers etc because i will not even be touching anything inside. If it starts acting up i'll be making phone calls. If i do it myself i might accidently break it. The only things i may change would be from the game menu where you adjust volume control and stuff. That is the extent i am only willing to go...

Vsync is in every game you play. Its an option you set in game.
Also you wouldn't have to touch anything, they guide you through just about anything you call for -- AND they offer remote help. So. Yea. Digital Storm is awesome. Seriously man. I wouldn't mislead you, I really, just, can't ever see myself EVER buying a computer elsewhere. Ever again. Ever. |
