I've built my son's last two computers and also my last 2.

Actually there is nothing wrong with my I7 hex core build and GTX 670 card running 4 monitors that I have built inside a themaltake chaser tower.

It's just I want something water loop cooled and latest and greatest so to speak. And this time I want someone else to do it. So no problem paying the 30-40% premium.

I am not a gamer at all. The closest Ive been to a game since pin-ball was pac man or Gorf. LOL. Yes I am a child of the 60s and 70s.

The Apollo will have 32GB RAM, the mid level Haswell CPU, Asus x99 pro board, AMD 290X card. Two 256GB Samsung 850PRO SSD and two 2TB HDD. The hydrolux cooling but not the software or specialized air control..also the remote controlled lighting. Finally a bluray burner. For sound I will be installing my excellent Roland Octacapture external device that runs through a Yamaha receiver with 7.1 analog ins.

For PSU, Corsair 1200i which is overkill but I just like the eye appeal of the thing.

Paid at 10 PM last night. Still not processed. But reading threads it seems as if DS is in a high otempo presently. I did converse with Janna today via email and additionally paid to make sure all sleeving and cables are white.

I'll end up moving the system I have now to the downstairs cycling (trainer) room.

I was going to build again myself and even went to far as to learn about sysprep in audit mode (sevenforums is tremendously valuable resource). Had much these same components picked out and a Core x9 case. The case is stuck in port and New Egg isn't taking orders until it's available again. So then thought---why not splurge and let way more patient people do the heavy lifting.

Now to practice patience until new toy arrives. Then more patience as I reinstall dozens and dozens of programs.

So you may ask, if I dont game what do I do ? Edit homemade cycling videos using Sony Vegas Pro, and just surf the web and hang on FB mainly. When I am not out working, cycling, mountain biking or running.

Happy I think to have selected DS over --------.

Sorry for long intro.

"CW3 (ret)" - Thank you for your service!!

Welcome to the family. Enjoy your stay with us.

Looks like a solid build for the editing and more than a match for anything else. : )

Thank-you Pacesetter !  On a diff thread I was reading some of Angeldeth's problems and now I see this Asus x99 deluxe mobo had problems early on. I am just hoping all that is rectified and latest stable BIOS etc will be applied.

From what I have seen the newest UEFI BIOS fixed a ton of problems for many builds. As you know the BIOS stands for BIOS Is Ongoing Strategy. It's always changing and we hope for the best scenario. : )

This did wonders for the X99 deluxe:

Yes, it was almost heart-stopping to read about CPU even getting fried by a defect and possible CORSAIR PSU involvement.  I trust everything is well now and all the new techs (assembly engineers ?) have been kept abreast of what to look out for.

Build 43401 just assigned the number after processing. :)
