Greetings

I recently purchased an x17 laptop, and thought I had added a 2nd hdd to the order.  Upon receiving the order, looks like I forgot to add it.

So I picked up a hdd.  My only problem is adding the hdd to the laptop.  I took off the secondary HDD panel on the bottom of the laptop, and BAM, my optical drive is in the way.

Anyone know of an easy way to remove everything to access the secondary HDD bay, or know of any guides that can walk me through this endeavor?

I do not have a x17 laptop, in most laptops the DVD drive is very easy to take out. The first thing I would look for would be any screws holding the DVD drive in place. Revome any screws you see. Then you should be able ot slide the DVD drive out. This is the most common way they hold the DVD drive in any laptop but if you still need help I would call Digital Storm and they will be able to help.

Hi Richardb,

It doesn't sound like you should be working on your computer without DS. Call their technical staff and ask for help. They will know what you need to do. You don't want to void your warranty.
