Importance of Gaming Keyboards

While every PC game can work with a standard keyboard, you can gain an advantage by using a keyboard designed specifically for gaming. Gaming keyboards are designed to increase your speed and reactions in real-time strategy games or first-person shooters.

High-performance gaming keyboards are designed to properly output long sequences of actions with custom macros and are responsive enough to maintain an edge in competitive play. There are a ton of options available and after you’ve tried some of these keyboards, you may start wondering how you ever thought a regular keyboard was ever “good enough.”

Corsair has been putting out a nice range of high-quality products for a long time. Their new line of gaming keyboards are focused on providing precise response times and reliable control so you can get a competitive advantage in almost every game you play.

Corsair Vengeance K60

The Vengeance K60 was designed for gamers who want to add a little something extra to their FPS experience. The mechanical switches provide fast, efficient action and very good tactile feedback. The keys are rated for 50 million clicks, rest assured, this keyboard will be functioning for a very long time!

This keyboard comes with 10 special keys that are specially sculpted and textured for use in an FPS game (WASD and the numbers 1 through 6). This also helps the user gain better control and avoid slipping and pressing the wrong key during an intense battle. The textures also make it easier to find the right controls without having to look away from the game. The K60 was also designed to have lightning fast output times and does not get bogged down when a large number of keys are being pressed at once.

Corsair Vengeance K90

For gamers who play more MMOs and RTSs, the Corsair Vengeance K90 has more of what you need. This keyboard features all the same responsiveness features of the K60 but allows for more customization. There are three banks of macro keys encompassing 18 keys total.

You can group and organize your macros by function and can even do some on-the-fly macro recording so you can quickly adapt to changing situations in the game. When you have to do a lot of micromanaging or follow through with long action sequences, this may be exactly what you need. The software even lets you create up to 50 profiles, so you can easily switch between setups for different games. For a little added bling, the K90 has a user controllable lighting system that features an LED under every key. This elegantly lights each key's symbol and the brushed aluminum base underneath the keys make the keyboard functional yet aesthetically pleasing in various lighting conditions.
