ASUS unveils Hyper Express SATA Express drive with insane performance

ASUS unveils Hyper Express SATA Express drive with insane performance

Legit Reviews had the chance to sit down with ASUS to check out their current SATA Express concept design. The ASUS Hyper Express utilizes two 120GB m.2 SSDs in a 2.5" SATA Express enclosure to deliver insane performance. The two m.2 drives inside the unit operate in RAID 0 which is controlled by an internal raid controller.

It is important to keep in mind that the ASUS Hyper Express is currently a prototype design and nothing is really finalized. With leaked Z97 motherboards showing that SATA Express support is coming to the next generation, it will be interesting to see how the adoption of the new standard plays out.

What are your thoughts on the ASUS Hyper Express drive? Are you planning on upgrading to a motherboard that supports the new standard? Let us know in the comments below!
