I was looking into the xm15 Level 2 laptop.

Would I be able to upgrade the RAM to 8GB?

Also, I doubt this would be possible, but would there be any way to NOT get a DVD drive, and get a 2nd hard drive in its place?
(I am not going to be gaming on this, mostly HD video editing, which takes up alot of HDD space, 3D rendering, and graphics programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, ect.)

You will have to wait until that laptop is ready to be ordered, then you can choose options to add another hard drive or SSD that will take the place of the DVD drive.
Right now those new laptops aren't in yet, so they are just a pre-order.

Do you know for sure that you will be able to get another hard drive in place of the DVD drive?
Thanks

The XM15 by design should have that capability. You will probably have to special request it though.

Okay. Thank you very much!
I really need all the hard drive space I can get for raw HD videos.

You won't be able to add a second hard drive to the xm15. The chassis does not support it, even if you would not go with an optical drive.

You can request that with 8GB of memory, but, that will have to be done with one of our Sales people. We'll have to manually add it to your order afterwards. You can email Sarah about this at: [email protected]

Okay, thanks Alex. I was afraid of that. I may just settle with a more powerful desktop computer then. I wanted the portability of a laptop, but I think the power of a desktop would be more beneficial to me.
