1. No budget
2. HTPC at High Performance
3. Gaming/Entertainment/Media 4. X99 i7 With the new x99 chipset out, and the beautiful gtx 980/970 gpus already in the Bolt II, I'm wondering if DS has any intentions of moving x99 into the Bolt II? I really want to take advantage of the DDR4 ram and 6 core cpu in a home theater system that is compact, sleek, gorgeous and high quality. Since DS doesn't sell the Bolt II chassis and all of the other HTPC cases on the market are either HUGE or unbelievably ugly as H3LL I figured my last option would be waiting for DS to put x99 in their Bolt line. If not, I'll have to settle for big and ugly... |

Hi CowboyBradley... That's great question. Maybe someone from DS can shed some light on it.
Could be, being so recent, that the companies they partner with haven't released the x99 mini, but just speculating. Oh, welcome to the forums. |

Thank you very much :) I'm excited to be here. Yeah I figured if anything was holding them back, it was the lack of mini ITX boards.

Until a company decides to release a Mini-ITX X99 motherboard, we can't fit one into the Bolt.

We definitely will as long as someone makes a compatible motherboard. This, however, is highly unlikely as there is no manufacturer planning on releasing one.

The Bolt will only fit a Mini-ITX motherboard. These usually only have slots for two DIMMs. The the Haswell-E processors supporting 4 memory channels, it just isn't likely any motherboard manufactures will make a Mini-ITX X99 motherboard. Without that, DS won't be able offer it in the Bolt. |
