I purchased my laptop a couple months ago, when I got it I had to immediately reinstall the OS. I used the CD that was sent to me but for some odd reason, there was no product key with it, so I can't activate it. Now the OS interrupts everything I do on my computer and closes out my games completely without letting me save. I can't get ahold of Digital Storm to fix it either. For as much as these computers cost you'd think they'd have 24 hr customer service.

There should be a sticker on your case somewhere with the product key.

They put it in a binder with CD sleeves, no sticker with proper key anywhere

Help me out with something... why did you have to immediately re-install the OS? Digital Storm tests every machine they ship so I'm confused.

And yes, as AW777 says, contact them in the morning. The reason they don't have 24hour support is because they are not a huge corporation willing to pay folks in other countries to answer their telephones and follow a useless script, like some other companies do.

When I got the comp, I go to install the virus progr that ce with it and download a different browser than IE, once both were installed I did a full scan and comp kept freezing, browser kept crashing. Had bad malware in the first hour. Not sure how it happened but that's why I had to reinstall OS. Virus program couldn't remove it.

Who said anything about hiring people out of country to do tech support? I said they should have a 24 hr. They can hire local for that, people work nights and weekends in this country.

I am certain that DS will be able to help you tomorrow when they are open.

2 points I would like to make.. 1) the comment about hiring outside the US was just a comparison with some other rather large computer companies and was an attempt at humor.

and 2) why would you have to install the virus program that came with it? If the virus program came with it, then it was already installed. DS machines are fully functional and ready when shipped, as far as I know, with only recent updates needed.... either way, the virus program would have already been installed and working... yet you got a virus/malware.

This is very confusing. Again, talk to DS in the morning, I'm sure they will be able to help you out.

Cheers!

I should reword that then. When I got the comp, the virus program was not installed, they made me go to their website with a key to redeem my copy. But they will be getting called today regardless.

The Anti-virus thing they have listed is an activation card and does not come installed in the system. You still have to download the software.

Ah, thanks for that, I didn't know.

Seems strange that DS would offer an anti-virus with malware, doesn't it? Unless the anti-virus wasn't the first step after updates it doesn't seem possible.

Eh, either way, I'm sure DS will get it straight.

Did this ever get resolved?  If so, what was the solution?
