Hi Krappei,

Not until the middle to the end of November.

Sounds good, thanks Alex. Hopefully they go up for pre-order a few weeks before.

Alex (or anyone else), is there any difference between the Equinox and the MSI GS60? Spec-wise they're identical and they use a similar (slightly different cosmetically) chassis.

I threw that hint around a while back, the Equinox and MSI GS60 being the same, but I don't think they saw it.   Good question. Big%20Smile

Very similar, but it's not just the hardware you're paying for. It's the testing we do here, QA checks, etc... and the support and service on top.

What a lot of people don't realize is that very, very few companies do customer hardware development for Laptops.  Clevo and Alienware are the two big names, and alienware used Clevo for the longest time.

I say this because Clevo based laptops are used by the majority of all laptop providers.

As Alex said though, what you're paying for isn't just hardware given that nearly all computer manufactures are using the same hardware and chassis. You're paying for the customer support, bloatware/software, QA, maybe custom work done physically.

You also get the ability to have customer support should you ever want to upgrade or have issues.  You're paying for reliability and comfort in a purchase when it comes to laptops more than anything.  While you can compare pricing with different companies, the biggest comparisons you want are (in my opinion) the following two things:  Physical appearance and Company support.  That's what you're buying over other companies (hence price fluxes across the industry).
Custom PC
Ryzen 9 5950X
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme
128GB DDR4 3600mhz
EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
Samsung 980 Pro 512GB m.2
Samsung 960 PRO 2TB m.2 x2

The option is still not available, and customer service from Digital Storm was less then helpful when it came to answering the question....

I don't see any future indication of that anytime soon. The team is running a promotion on the Equinox to clear inventory with the 800M series cards. We're basically selling them at cost right now.

So, when it comes to your first post about not until November, was that something that changed or merely misinformation? I'm very happy with my level 4 and level 2 Vanquish II purchases from last year, but I'm seeking real help with deciding on a new laptop to replace my Alienware MX14, I'm seeking a larger better display, but portability is a definite factor.

I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy that accurate information is really being posted on here, but I'll keep giving DS a chance for the moment, I just noticed the laptop line has added the Triton, I'm very interested in the level 4, and I'm wondering how it compares with the Equinox, any information to offer in this regard?

Please note, the accuracy and honestly of this information will directly impact my decision to spend another few thousand $ with DS or seek another solution.  If I seem frustrated, I am, I'm seeking answers here because the support I received from customer service directly was not satisfactory.

I think he assumed they would sell out of the older ones sooner than they ended up doing.

Although i would likely just place both on the page and let people who want to pay less go for the older card.

I would think they might lose out on sales doing it this way.

Hi Echo9G,

The information I posted earlier was accurate, it's just that we originally had plans to sell the 900M series, but that has changed now as we are offering customers a discounted price on the 800M series with the Equinox.

From what I see now, there are no plans for the Equinox to be with the 900M series.

I highly recommend checking out our other units, while they aren't as thin as the Equinox, you are going to get better thermals and more options with those units.
