    Posted: 10 Aug 2007 at 8:42am
I had ordered a new computer form DigitalStorm on Friday, August 3, 2007.  After spending the entire weekend in the forums and on the web I put a hold on that build on Sunday, August 5, 2007.  I had numerous questions concerning the configuration of the computer, technical support from DS, now and in the future, and I was curious to see just how dedicated that DS was to Customer Support.

I came up with a list of questions that covered the prior listed areas and submitted them to DigitalStorm.  For grins and giggles I also submitted them to Cyberpower, Vigor and Velocity Micro.  The results surprised even me.  DigitalStorm (Robert) returned my email within about 3 hours with all the questions answered.  Not just with little blurbs to make it quick and to look like they care, but with well thought out answers that actually addressed the issues.  Robert even went the extra mile and asked that I call him if I needed anything else or to clarify anything that I might have questions about.

I am a supervisor in the IT area of my company.  I have worked with vendors for years and have never received this type of personal service.  DS means it when they say that Customer Satisfaction is paramount.  I feel confident that DS is honest and that they are a company that believes in what they are doing.  They have my business!

As for the other companies, Cyberpower sent me an email 2 days after I sent mine.  It was almost two lines in length and answered about half of my questions.  The answers looked like they were submitted by a underpaid and under trained employee who did not want to be at work.

Vigor got back to me in about a day.  Their answers were more complete than Cyberpower and looked to be from an individual who at least understands computers.  It did not possess a personal touch and it made me feel like I was dealing with Dell or Gateway.  Like I was just another sale!

I have yet to hear back from Velocity Micro!  That actually speaks louder than the replies from the other companies.

DigitalStorm truly impressed me with their Customer Service.  I eagerly await my new computer.  I also look forward to doing business with them in the future.  If anyone has any questions about this Post, I will answer then for you.  I am a believer in DigitalStorm.

No, I do not work for them and this is not a paid advertisement.  I am just a gamer with a mission.  The best quality machine, for the bet price from the best company!

I have to say I agree, I have been looking for a gaming computer for about 2 weeks. Checked IBUYPOWER, Cyberpowerpc, ADK, and ABS, even a couple of local shops. In the end I came to Digital Storm on a reccommendation from a friend in one of my games. I had a few concerns with shipping, mostly my end, and with my video card. The Ds people on the forums have been very helpful and given me alot of advice.

I look forward to buying my computer here, just narrowing down the video card option then I'm sold. I really appreciate DS putting up these forums and helping there potential customers in making the right decisions.

I totally agree too...these guys do care and have gone the extra mile in customer service. I've worked in a call center before and know what it takes to appropriately take care of the customer and DS is doing things right.

I had actually placed an order with Cyberpower and was fortunate that I was able to get a refund and buy a pc with DS. I feel like a dodged a huge bullet because they (cyberpower) told me that they make about 2000 pcs a month and they have 10 lines...yes i said 10...that you can call into for tech support. Once those are full you get the busy signal...that's worse than just being put into a phone queue on hold. Angry

Digital Storm has been quick and thorough with regards to my questions. Kelly had actaully got off the phone and went to talk with others to answer some of my questions...just to be sure. I was impressed that if he didn't know the answer...he went and got one immediately.

I don't work for them either...but I wouldn't mind...it seems like a great place to work.

I love the way my machine looks too! I have the blue cathodes like you do but do you have the Lite case as well? For how much it cost me its amazing!

The thing I like about Digital Storm is that they offer amazing customer service, and their machines have amazing value! I compared prices with Dell for their gaming computers and the price difference was staggering!

I have the Twister Pro and I can not wait to get my computer.  I bet it looks great at night.  I can not even tell you how much researching on computers that I did the last few months.  DigitalStorm is the way to go, hands down!

I've had my Digital Storm for almost a year now. ( I know I got the value but i upgraded it to where I like it.)
And I must say I'm impressed. What makes Digital Storm also great is The levels of customer service (And tech support.). All the parts are very high grade. What seperates Digital storm from other manufatures. Is the time and effort they put into the Pc's. I've bought from Hp before. All they did was slap it together and put it in a box. And say here you go.

All i'm trying to say is Keep up the great work Digital Storm. You guys do a great job!

I'm going to buy an new computer soon...I have been paying attention for weeks now on a multitude of topics and have come up with a few questions for all you knowledgeable  geeks out there....for selfish reasons I assure you. I wanna buy and use my new system for five  or six years with most of the new hardware carrying on just fine, did it before .On my new OS (vista premium)..does it need to be the 64 bit if I will never overclock anything?  Can I get along with an Intel E6600 and two mg FireStick  Ddr2 800 .Is a 600w power supply mid range?

It would be good to make a new thread to ask your questions and so other members can discuss freely without spamming this thread too much =x.

What would you be doing with your computer? gaming? media center? video/graphic editing?

Do you plan on upgrading components in the future?

Much Gratitude. Middle of the road stuff-my current PC has four thousand pictures on it...gonna take more in the future...but I seldom edit them ...I have a external hard drive now for storage..so that's not a concern---I would like to open some blueprints every now and then -from an on-line source--I'm gonna do a bit of drawing with some CAD software...not much...my hope is to be able to expand my horizons and use my imagination to benefit myself and the people I touch....I can afford the 'good ' computer....as for gaming,I don't.

I live in southern CA, so Robert recommended that I save my money and keep the free ground shipping.  I'm glad I listened to him, cause it's going to get here in two days.  It almost made it here in one!  lol

Indiana is a bit further away.  The scheduled delivery is the 20th, I wish that it would get here by the 17th so I could enjoy it the whole weekend.  Distance makes a big difference on delivery time.  Enjoy yours and think about me and my dead computer in Indiana,ha.

Yeah, I really feel for you..  I would have upgraded to next day or second day if it was shipped later in the week.  I'm only going to have about a week to use mine before I have to leave for three weeks.  Bummer.

As a guide for all those that will come after me in purchasing a DigitalStorm rig........................................if you live more than a state away, fork over the extra $99 for the 3-day Air.  The wait is killing me!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!   I felt the same way.......even though I purchased the build for my brother, I couldn't wait for it to get here so I could see it in action. The pain of waiting, knowing that it was on a truck somewhere.......it would have been well worth the $99!!

This is my build and it can run any of the games that I own on maxed out settings.  I have had it for a week and it runs cool, quiet and smooth.  DS has exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the process.  I will do all my computer business with DS.  The only real dilemma that I have is when to add the second video card and at what point do I swap up to the quad-core.  I was hesitant to buy from a builder but DS has squashed that fear.  I hope that everyone is as happy with their rigs as I am with mine.

Like all the folks here, I've been impressed by what I've read about Digital Storm. However, so far my purchase experience has been less than perfect. I have been unable to talk to a live person at DS all day, and finally placed my order for a Twister Pro with several lingering configuration questions.

I'm not complaining, only observing. Mondays must be Hell at DS, trying to catch-up with the pent up demand from the weekend.

A month from now, if I've got a great machine a great price..., none of this will matter.

UPDATE #1:

Alex called me after 9:00 PM east coast time; after 6:00 PM his time! Somehow, I don't think that was the "Second Shift" at DS starting up. More like the first shift working overtime to keep customers happy. He answered my questions, and we changed my configuration on the fly based on those answers. I'm a happy camper.

UPDATE #2:

The day after I placed my order, my wife told me that, "some guy called yesterday about a motherboard while you were out." Gee.... And today, Kelly called to ask if I had any final questions before DS got started with the build.       Thumbs%20Up

Hey! I didn't even know you posted this in the forums.

Today (8/27/2007) was amazing. Our phone staff was totally busy. A few of our guys are actually on vacation as well. Plus we are dealing with growing pains, however, we won't let the quality of our service or builds slip at all. We have new employee's coming in soon. We will welcome them to the forums shortly Clap

DS will never let customer service slip.  They went the extra mile with me.  I have never had a more enjoyable time spending $2600 in my life.  The product is second to none and the customer service is better.

Yes, I would like to say that my experience with DS customer support so far has been great. I've spoken with Kelly and John about my order (waiting on my CC Bank) both have been very friendly.

I also wanted to mention one thing, we are in the HEART of SILICON VALLEY.

This is where all of the big technology companies are. We are literally less than 15 mins away from NVIDIA and Intel. We have NVIDIA reps and Intel reps constantly visit our facility with new ideas, and engineering samples.

AMD is about 20 min's away, and don't forget Western Digital and Corsair.

We are located right where everything happens. We are surrounded by experts and we pass this advantage to our customers.

Just an example would be ShowDownLan, we had Corsair rep's in our booth helping us out.
