Where Art Thou Vanquish!!

I'm so excited that I had to make a thread about it, lol.

It's taken FOREVER to get here. DS had it together and got it out in just a few days, but UPS seems to want to keep it for themselves, lol. I wonder if the UPS guy/gal is a computer nerd and sees the package and is just like "yes.. this shall be mine mwahaha."

It's said to arrive tomorrow, well TODAY the 23rd, but it isn't even in my city yet (but it's in the state). Gosh, it's seemed to have made SO many stops and that makes me nervous. I hope you packed it well DS! Anyone else ship to New York or somewhere close?

I've had my monitor for a week and haven't even been able to turn it on yet, so I have a very empty desk with a very sad (and large) monitor waiting to fulfill it's purpose in life!

I wonder how UPS workers feel to being attacked, hugged, kissed, or maybe just drooled on, haha.

So if anyone else wants to share in my anticipation, I have nothing better to do than wait! I shall try to be brave and patient!

Of course I am the last stop for the UPS driver today, just my luck. They said she should be here in an hour or so. I've been up most of the night and most of the morning waiting. Ugh. I hope I get to at least turn it on today and do something.

Just one more hour, it should be almost there 8)

What a beauty, you seriously will not be disappointed with the Vanquish if that is what you ordered. It's built so well. I had this idea that it was going to be very unsteady because of the size but it's like a brick, it's not going anywhere and it stays very cool with all of those fans. Does anyone know how many hard drive slots it contains? I really need to brush up on this PC stuff lol. PCI slots are limited on the motherboard right? If I'm able I'm thinking about getting a bigger SSD in the future.

I believe it uses this case Corsair 230t so it has room for 4 total Hard drives. The system is currently using 2 so you could install 2 more.

As far as your saving files just browse and select the HDD when you need to save a file or program instead of the SSD and it will install the program on the HDD.

You all have been so helpful, it's much appreciated! I finally got to enjoy the PC tonight YAAY! OMG what a nightmare. I got a wireless usb adapter that didn't work, so then I bought one right from my cable company and it gave me the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!! I was NOT HAPPY. I called them right up and gave them a piece of my mind, what a crappy company ugh I wish there were other options where I live. But it all ended well. The computer seems to have no long term effects from it and the new USB adapter works (when it wants to) I have to check into why it keeps saying I have a limited connection and then booting me altogether. (Any suggestions? lol) But the PC is a beast and I was really starting to regret the decision because I have having so many problems, but I'm very happy to say that after getting use to it and finally getting things going, I have one beautiful, spacious, incredible machine and I thank DS so so much for offering such amazing systems. I'll write a review soon, maybe in a week or so lol I'm having too much fun with it right now. :P

Changing your WiFi channel might also help. Here's a link explain how..

I use WiFi Analyser on my tablet and it gives great info. I don't know a good free analyser for just the desktop if you don't have a tablet, iPhone or android device.

last time i got a new computer. after troubleshooting all the drivers,(and my router) i realized i forgot to screw in the external wifi antenna that comes with the computer into the back of the tower. it had also been dropping signal and limited connection. did you also forget this? iwent from cursing to having a good laugh when i discovered my mistake of haste.

Is the image you included what the antenna is suppose to look like? I didn't receive anything like that from what I have here. Maybe I'm overlooking it? Anyone else that purchased the Vanquish have any input on this?

Thank you Dav, I hope maybe that is my problem! I received some odds and ends and I really can't be sure what it's all for to be honest with ya, I'll need another Vanquish expert to point me in the right direction. :P

Dav did not buy a Vanquish system. Vanquish do not have built in wireless. So you would not get an antenna.

What wireless router are you trying to connect to? Roughly how far away is it? What usb adapter are you using?

I know I tried two different wireless adapters and had issues connecting to the cheap router that Comcast installed.

Once I switched to using my Asus router my connection issues went away.

It may not be the wireless adapter at all but the router.
