I received my computer a couple of days ago, and first I want to say it rocks and so does DS.  I'm spreading the word to my friends, y'all are definitely the way to go.

So I have an HDMI cable that I use with my PS3, and I thought I could just hook it up to my comp and watch movies that way (my blu-ray lens on the PS3 is busted I think, can't watch them from it).  However, when I try to watch any movie from the PC I just get a scrambled image on the screen, and the buffering seems pretty bad.  Is there a setting or something that I'm missing to allow this, or do I need a different sort of cable?  I can do all other things ok with the setup, like all my games and such, just can't seem to make movies work.  I'm new to this sort of configuration so any help is appreciated :D

Thanks!
Jason

If you are watching Blu-Ray, you will have to purchase software to do so. Microsoft will not pay the royalties to include the codec in Windows to allow you to watch the movie.

Does your monitor have a hdmi slot? If so hook up the ps3 to the monitor instead of the computer itself
