Just came across this:

Today EVGA announced its plans to move forward with a new variant of the GTX 960, dubbed the SuperSC, that’s been doubled up with 4GB of DDR5 RAM and a refreshed cooling system that should be able to handle anything that 4K gaming enthusiasts have to throw at it.

Kinda looks like GTX 960 in a 290X box.

Interesting. That would allow a hardware review site to see how much the RAM makes a difference.

It'll be interesting to see if the added vram actually helps that much.  The 128 bit bus could be a hindering factor.  Kinda like an 8 lane highway funneling into 4 toll booths before entering the Mass Pike.  Hahaha
The gtx 770 with its larger bus didn't see much improvement between the 2 gb and 4 gb vram cards.

The base clock is higher but not the memory clock.     Testing will say for sure.  Big%20Smile

Could be just making some feel better with more vram, even if it adds little.
