Budget
I was really hoping to spend around $5,000 USD or less but Im seriously looking at this set up. Expectations/Usage Play most games Rather high graphics to play games like DayZ, Battlefield 4 and any others that may come out. I might consider going into a dual moniter set up at somepoint but Im un sure if I want to do that again but it did help when i was doing web development coding. Velox https://www.digitalstormonline.com/configurator.asp?id=1090676 Apollo https://www.digitalstormonline.com/configurator.asp?id=1090678 Questions 1 GTX Titan 6gb VS 2 SLI GTX 980 4GB (Id consider SLI Titans in the future if its worth it) I7 5930K 3.5ghz vs i7 5820K 3.3GHz For my usage and what not? Red/Blue Fans create too much light for the UV H20 Liquid cool tubing and make the effect not as good? Is it even worth Liquid cooling the CPUI/Chipset and both video cards or going down to 1 titan or just only liquid cooling the cpu? Edited by xTenbatsu - 08 Nov 2014 at 11:32am |

Not sure your monitors resolution, but the gtx 980 beats the Titan in gaming, even 4k. So the sli 980 is much better than the Titan, either single now or sli later.
The only real difference between the 5930k and 5820k is the number of pcie lanes. The 5930k has 40 lanes for a four video card setup and the 5820k has 28 lanes, good for tri sli, 3 cards. The clock difference is meaningless with overclocking. LED fans aren't as bright as some pics indicate, imho. Just a soft glow. Everyone has a different light tolerance but I don't see an issue. Water cooling isn't necessary but does allow higher overclocking if you wanted it and does help with noise control, especially the video cards, which are usually the noisiest part of a rig under load. Not need but does have advantages. Hope this helps. |

If you're just doing gaming, then 980 would be better. If you're going to be doing any programming with double-precision accuracy, then Titan.
An i7-5820K with a single GTX 980 may be able to pull off playing BF4 depending on your screen resolution and quality settings: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8526/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-review/13. SLI GTX 980 would get you performance that supports QHD at very high settings with >60FPS performance. PCI-e lane count doesn't make much of a difference for the current gen of GPU: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/pci-e-lane-performance-tidf23528/ Water cooling can definitely help keep your system running cool, especially if you have SLI GPUs. It does have additional maintenance needs, so you'd need to consider that. |

I appreciate the input. I am looking to try an play most games with around 60 fps on high graphics so Id like to try to keep the SLI 980s however I think I will drop the water cooling down to the CPU and just run the non custom H20.
Noise isnt a big deal as I wear a headset most of the time but would it be rather loud or just moderate high reving fans. Ive never had a Liquid cooled system. what kind of maintenance would I be looking at? Is there anything you would do to lower the price but not really hurt performance? |

You could switch to the Deluxe mobo, unless there's something on the other you need.
Drop the Memory Fan kit. Not needed. If by liquid you mean the H100i for example, then no maintenance. Edited by bprat22 - 08 Nov 2014 at 12:35pm |

All the radiators are sealed and require no maintenance
