I just got my new Vanquish II Level 2 today.  Everything works great but the fans seem a bit loud to me...with just a little bit of rattle or annoying sound to them. Is this normal? Is there a way to make them quieter?

If there's a rattling sound, it could be a bad fan. If they're too loud then go into Bios, Del key while booting, and on the Bios EZ screen you can adjust fans to Quiet, Standard, etc.

Hope this helps and good luck .

Hey gaming_risa, welome to the forums and the DS family.

There was a really good discussion about the fans on the Vanquish here:

One of the things you can do is run the machine with the case open and try to find the fan making the noise...  iirc there are 2 fans in the front, 1 on the bottom (PSU), 1 in the back and 2 or 3 on the video card. If you find the one that rattles, give a press in center to see if it needs to be reseated.

Keep us posted.

Also, call DS tech support on Monday.  They can walk you through some steps to get everything just as you want it.

Thanks for the help everyone. I opened it up and found that a cable was up against the graphic card fan which  was causing the sound. Tucked the cable out of the way.  Now she is silent and ready for World of Warcraft.
