just trying to get a census on everyone's opinion of this legendary FPS, and how many are playing this new version.  I'm really enjoying it...now.  Many issues with initial install, but running great after some tweaking....especially w/ the config & profile settings.  Only R&G mp servers available that I have seen, which I love, but hopefully some campers to come to switch things up.  Also extremely hopeful that this version will eventually offer than countless mods, skins, and maps that I came to expect w/UT '04.  happy fragg'nDead

I played the demo and it was fun. But, the problem I have with this kind of game is the multiplayer aspect. Its way too fast for me and lots of bunny-hoppers everywhere! I can't get a bead! LOL! I'm old and I need a little bit slower paced game. But anyway, its very eye appealing and sounds are great in the game. I'll wait for the price to drop (prolly a year), then I might get it. Its a hugely popular game. Have fun online!

I have it. I've been exploring it. I like science fiction shooters. I haven't seen as many people playing online with a low ping as I'd like to  see but the game is still new. I'm sure the numbers will grow.

still deciding if i should get it or not.. i love UT but very disappointed with gamespy and the crapass menus.
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

I hesistated because of Gamespy as well, but temptation won me over and I'm glad I purchased it.  The new Warfare mode is an absolute blast online, and I really enjoy the amount of detail that goes into character customization.

only hope that the customization & mods reach the extent (or beyond) as UT'04 did.  loving the very very fast gameplay and "fragg'n" levels beyond "GodLike"

Even though I enjoy FPS's this was too fast paced for me, I prefer to have to have a little bit of strategy.

fast paced = more skill based IMO which is a plus.. i'll probably pick this up for a change every now and then from COD 4

Any gun is deadly in Unreal. Some are deadlier than others, but it's largely skill based as well. There's about three classes of weapons. Instant kill, three hitters, and fill em with holes. You can kill just about equally with all of them, you just have to know the best way to go about it. Once you go through the learning curve with each gun, you become a nearly unstoppable force. At least, versus bots.

it has more strategy with the team based servers.  really enjoying Deathmatch of course, but the Warfare is a blast too.  c u all online soon.  the more the merrier.

lol I had that same problem with Dawn of war.. able to beat 1-2 insane computers easily, play online and its gg im nub :(

Yeah i played it enough online to where im pretty good vs people now, but the imbalances in the game frustrates me, it could be such a AMAZING game.

best tips I can give w/ these games online are:
 
1.  practice, practice, practice.  know where all the pwr ups are and get to them 1st.
 
2.  & always pick on the noobs when playing online.  there is always someone better than you on a server, so I try to figure out (asap) who on the server sucks, and go after them.  dont be a bully but its no fun trying to tackle the giants, just try not to wear out your welcome with the noobies either.  works great...more points and better rank w/out taking out the better players.
 
either way. its all for fun, and what a ton of it.

all I can say is wow...   I installed it a few days ago and have ignored all of my other games (COD4, timeshift, bioshock). 
 
The vehicle CTF mode is amazing and im having a blast playing online... this game is awesome. 
 
I thought it would suck as I used to be a diehard UT2k4 fan, but it's amazing and I would never go back to UT2k4.

Vehicle Capture the flag has some big beautiful maps. I hope a lot of people get this for Xmas. I'd like to see more people playing this online so I have more choices to join in on. I play this game the most.

There are six short videos that start up when I first start UT. Anyone know how I can get rid of them so that I can start UT quicker?

To disable the intro videos of UT3 (the nvidia, epic games logo etc.) go to

to "My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config"

Open UTEngine.ini with Windows Notepad or similar software.
Search for the entry [FullScreenMovie].

Add " ; " before each StartupMovies entry so it will look like this:

;StartupMovies=Copyright_PC
;StartupMovies=EpicLogo
;StartupMovies=MidwayLogo
...etc

Now UT3 will start without presenting you the intro videos.

lol...the game is pretty tuff skyR.  I'd try Vehicle CTF or Warfare b4 moving to the Deathmatch.  Teambased is always easier.  I love this game, but I can't stop playing COD4...wow
