I've gone and upgraded the RAM to something almost identical to what I had but only bigger. Went from 8-16GB.

I've got an Intel Core i5 4690k and an Asus Maximus VII Hero. I haven't changed anything in the bios yet.

I had the 8GB DDR3 1866MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series originally.

Got 2 sticks of G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10D-16GBXL Link

I'm not having any issues but I've noticed in CPU-Z my Core speed is not fluctuating any more. Its just staying at the overclocked speed of 4.2

It use to just boost under load but now it seems constant at 4.2

Could someone give me some pointers on this. I'm tempted to just reset everything back to default without the OC. And try to go from there. But if this isn't dangerous for the system I might just leave it.

Start > Power Options > Change Plan Settings (for which every plan you have selected) > Change Advance Settings > Processor Power Management > Minimum Power State > Set it to 5-10%

Completely worked. THank you.

It had nothing to do with my RAM upgrade. It was from when I ran the Samsung Magician and updated my firmware for the SSD. Was tweaking the settings for my drives and it must have installed a custom power plan.

Just never noticed it till now.

Thanks AGain.

No problem and you're welcome.

I know what you mean. It's happened to me a few times too.
