So I've had my eye on Digital Storm for several months now, and I've pretty much singled it out from the competition I've been looking at.

Part of me wants to build my own computer from scratch, and make it truly "mine'. But it also intimidates me. Getting a defective part for my very first rig, and having to go through the headache of RMAing it would probably put me off from building my own.

Which is why I've got my eye on the Vanquish II Level 4, because of its bang for the buck, and room for upgrades. I figure if I can successfully install some upgrades, then I'll be more comfortable starting from scratch next time.

To any experienced builders / upgraders, does that sound like a good learning curve?

If you are intimidated, the learning curve from researching and upgrading parts can be invaluable. There is a certain order that needs (or should) be followed in building your own including what works best together, putting it together, and what drivers etc should be installed first.

This will give you experience and allow more time (along with some fantastic gaming) to learn and become more comfortable.
