So lots of threads being created about the ram required to run with this card. People saying errors on paper and offical requirement specs saying 2-4gb but Nvidia is saying 24-48gb required to run this card properly or It may not utilize more then 4gb usuage while under load. Can anyone DS side or here verify this? do we really need 24gb of ram. I have 16 gb of ram with my page filing set to auto.
*Btw there are people already reporting this issue with the card. Edited by kernols - 25 Mar 2015 at 2:13pm |

I just spoke to Nvidia chat. They said people who run it on 16gb of ram will likely face issues in the future and could cause stuttering, lag , tearing or eventually, the card may stopped working.

Yeah ive been researching it all night, i don't know who to believe. there are benchmarks all over with 16gb of ram and they work fine, other posts of people who are actually having the issue of only utilizing 4gb of ram from the card and it wont go higher.
another quote from Nvidia chat i had. "We are not really sure how the people are managing to get it work on 16 GB PC because the card itself is a 12 GB card. With 16 GB card, they might be able to run the card but in future, they will face performance issues. The minimum requirement is atleast 24 GB" Edited by kernols - 25 Mar 2015 at 4:28pm |

Maybe you guys can test 1 and see if they use all the ram on the card with 16gb of ram installed in the system.

It just doesnt make sense only if they are talking about games or programs using more then the 12vram. Something is going on though because of the reports of vram not working right.

The tests I ran for 4K game benchmarks at 16 GB in the test rig. I'll see if there is a difference with 32 GB when I get a chance.

From what im reading, the problem can be page filing. If it's set to system manged with people who have 16gb of ram tend to not see issues. Although it can still happen depending on the ram speed, Which OS they have (win 7 home vs pro/ultimate)and SSD vs HDD as main drive. If someone is using slow ram/home premium/regular hdd it can cause issues. Correct me if im wrong but Win 7 Home only allows 16gb of ram and that's what it can deal with in speeds. Pro/ultimate can go much higher so its through-put is higher? Either way im reading the page filing changed to system managed is solving the issue for people.
I think Nvidia is just making 24gb min and 48 recommended ( which is now official on the guide for the Titan X) because of all these potential problems. I'll be getting mine on Monday..i still have 16gb of 1866 ram and Win7 home prem. All of my hardware can handle the Titan X but I will test and see what performance benchmarks i can get. So I got my Titan X in yesterday and did some testing/benchmarking.
During Gaming and OC Scanner Fury E burner 3072mb it does show more then
4 vram used. The OC Scanner usd 5.7gb. Heaven Benchmark on the other
hand says my Titan X is 4096mb under the description after the test. But
all other games when i crank it up does go over the 4 so i think there
is something up with Heaven 4.0.
Also as noted before the page filing from digging through forums is something that does affect vram usage on the card. Temps are awesome for this card. 26 idle and nothing over 65 so far in my case. fan speeds at 65% when around 62ish. Playing shadow of modor 2560x1440 everything ultra i still get 75 fps lol. thing is a beast. Heres the info in Nvidia Control Panel. Edited by kernols - 28 Mar 2015 at 7:06am |

http://www.geforce.com/geforce-gtx-titan-x/buy-gpu Has the updated and current recommendations .
http://www.nvidia.com/content/geforce-gtx/GTX_TITAN_X_User_Guide.pdf still has the old information which is ridiculous because its the official user guide. The guide in my box also said 24 min 48 recommended. Edited by kernols - 02 Apr 2015 at 9:49am |
