Yes, that setup will be able to run all those games at med-high settings depending on resolution you are playing in.

Remember that you need Vista Ultimate or Vista Premium 64-bit for your system to recognize 4GB of ram.

What's your budget?

$2112

What do you plan on doing with your PC? Do you plan on upgrading the CPU or GPU in the future?

What games will you be playing? Games already on the market now or upcoming releases like Crysis, Alan Wake, UT3?

I suggest a quad core if you do video/graphic editing or playing DX10 games  frequently as the developers have said that the games will utilize the 4 cores (to what extent? no one knows).

If you plan on just playing DX9 games already on the market, a E6850 is a fine choice.

2GB of ram is fine for the games currently on the market.

yeah ocing i plan on

i do intend to play future upcoming releases suck as crysis

E6850 has a really well price for a processor with its raw power and 4mb cache

if i get 4 gb ram i can utilize future games on the market and maybe put it in a new computer in like 5 years maybe more

yes i plan on adding a gtx in maybe 2 or 3 years

I suggest getting Windows Vista Premium, it's worth the extra $30.

I read on another thread that XP was better for gaming than Vista.

Why is Vista your recommendation over XP...considering all the gaming he plans on doing?

There are no differences between Vista and XP gaming performance. XP is just more stable and bug-free. It's why some people prefer it, and some people just doesn't like change. There's also no reason to dump money on high-end DX10 cards if you going to use Windows XP.

He also plans on playing games like Crysis which was built for DX10 and only Vista can do true DX10 graphics.

I think that it was Kelly from DS who wrote in another post to stay with XP for now if you are going to game.  Wait until SP1 for Vista comes out and then purchase it for DX10 gaming.   If you find the right store and sale it will not cost that much to upgrade and you can game bug free now.  Makes sense to me.  By the way SKyR you are very knowledgeable and I thank you for all of your contributions to this forum.
