Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing well.
So, with The Witcher 3 system specs being out, I have been wondering if I'll be able to run it or not, so I go to canyourunit and I failed recommended because I have an i5 4670k, and not an i7. But I'm really wondering how my system will be able to run it because I have been thinking about buying a couple of upgrades, my current rig is an i5 4670k, GTX 770 and 8gb of ram. (Vanquish Level 4 from about a year ago) I have been considering getting a 970, or a 980 (Since it comes with a copy of The Witcher 3) but don't know if it would be worth upgrading from a 770 to a 970/980 yet. Any input is appreciated, thank you. |

You will be able to run it. I do not have the game, but I can absolutely guarantee that it will run. A lot of it depends on what settings you usually game at (for example, you probably aren't going to pull-off ultra-max at 4K or anything crazy like that ).
The minimum requirements I found where: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940 Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870 RAM 6GB OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1) DirectX 11 HDD Space 40 GB So yeah, you have nothing to worry about. If your're looking to upgrade anyway, I say go for it. But if you're looking at it just for W3, I'm not so sure. afaik, the jump in performance between a 770 and a 970 doesn't really justify it unless you're an enthusiast that has to have the latest and greatest.
Maybe someone will have more info than me, but that's just how I understand it. |

I just switched out the 770 in my VII for a 970 and the difference is worth it for me. the 4GB really helps and it is simply a beast. Nothing wrong with the 770 though. I simply had money to spend and sold the 770. Essentially paid roughly $100 for the 970 after the sell. |
