Good catch, we've been integrating our current status system with the ODE builds, but, it hasn't been perfect. I'll make sure I let our development team know.

Hi, Alex. I'm considering purchasing a Level-3 ODE, and I wanted to clarify the comment above. I tend to upgrade only every 3-4 years (and then a full system upgrade), and I would be concerned about a CPU failure after a couple of years. Is the ODE overlock driving the chip to the point where I can expect a relatively short life? My overclocked Q6600 is still plugging away after nearly 4 years. I am about ready to pull the trigger on a purchase, but with a 1-year parts warranty this concerns me a bit. I really like the price/performance ratio of the ODE systems, BTW. I hope it is successful for you guys.

@BiggerBoat,
Thank you for your interest in Digital Storm. We would love to have you as a customer!
I assure you with complete confidence that the overclocked CPUs in the ODE PC will last far longer than that. There's no need to worry. All systems are very solid, and stable.

Hi Alex,
I'm considering an ODE Level 3 purchase, however I have a couple of questions:
The first has to do with a recent review of the Level 3 posted on CNET:
1. In the reviewer's video (link provided below), it shows a USB 3.0 cable coming out the rear of the chassis (so the cable is external to the chassis) and plugging into one of the rear USB 3.0 slots. The reviewer said this cable is used to connect the USB 3.0 port that is on the front of the chassis to the motherboard.
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/digital-storm-ode-level/4505-3118_7-34836798.html
The pictures of the rear of the level 3 chassis on Digital Storm's website don't show this cable. When I looked at the specs for the Sabertooth motherboard it says that there are two USB 3.0 ports midboard (for front panel connectivity), which makes me wonder why the cable shown in the CNET review is necessary.
2. What is the recommended setting for the fan dial on the front panel? I'd like to keep the system as quiet as possible, but not risk inadequate cooling.
Thanks!

@GreyPilgrim, the reason why is because the chassis does not include a internal USB 3.0 header for the front USB 3.0 port. It's an actual cable.
I understand that the cable does take up one USB 3.0 port from the two in the back of the system, but, the only devices that really need USB 3.0 speeds are removable storage, which a large majority of customers would rather have the convenience of plugging those units into the front of the system.
You can also always unplug the rear USB 3.0 cable to have two ports as well at any time.

Alex,
I like the Ode level 3 but am concerned if the800w psu is enough should I decide to upgrade my gpus down the road. Would it even be enough to support sli 580 3gb?

For sli 580 you will be looking at around 480w to 520w depending, then you got your oc cpu and etc, that should be easily over 150w, with a 800w psu at 80% efficiency, you are looking at 640w before you start pushing the psu, so you need over 650w for sli 580 and oc cpu and etc, and this psu can give you 640w.
In short the numbers say no, I would not do it, unless the psu was under warranty, that way I can try it once and if it dies after 6 months or a year, I know not to do it again, and warranty covers my costs.
I can tell you that corsair does not recommend the 800gs for sli 580.

+1 I trust digital storm a ton but even gtx 570's in sli me myself i would feel iffy at even 800 watts. I went with a 1000w to be safe in my own rig

800W is plenty for SLI GTX 570.

I have to go with rice on this, I would not use that 800w for sli 570 either, but then again, if DS is putting a 5 year warranty on it, then they must feel comfortable doing it.
I like to have room for future gpu upgrades, in case they need power like the 580 sli.
So at the end to each his own.

Without discounts, the typical custom Special Ops custom-build adds like $600-$700 for putting it all together. The Independence Day sales would net around $100 to $150 savings to the regular $600-$700 custom-build beyond-parts prices; that still ends up north of $500. The ODE Level 3, however, only adds like an extra $200 versus typical Newegg pricing (give or take a few dozens of $ depending on whatever the Newegg discount-offering-of-the-week is). It's a great deal! So basically, a $200 standard surcharge for them to build, overclock, test, and validate an ODE Level 3, versus $500-$600 surcharge for a custom build after discounts and promos... You want them to lose money on the ODE builds? Just go get it! It's a great deal as-is! I love my ODE Level 3!

The ode three, is indeed, a BEAST. I've lowered the resolution on Crysis and I can keep a constant 60fps at all times! I'm looking forward to playing "normal" games on my 120hz monitor. The Acer GD235HZ is a beautiful monitor. I recommend it 100%. And, the 600T lets you rearrange the hd cages to maximize airflow to the videocards. I'm currently trying to set up the drives in the spare 5.25 bays.
The ssd is amazing, and the 570's magical. I idle 35-40 top and around. 30-35 bottom, and load (Crysis) with 70% fan at 60/55. Ish. Those are from memory. And the case dial does affect chassis fans.
One issue I have is that whenever I boot up, it says my account has been disabled. I enter the info manually, and after that I can log out/in like normal, by selecting my name. What solution would you suggest?

Also, it does not wake from sleep properly. My keyboard and mouse blink their lights when pressed, and the monitor does not connect.

I ordered the ODE level 3 last night. I am very excited about my new computer and can't wait to play Crysis and The Witcher 2 the way they were meant to be played. Now I just need to sell my Alienware M17X -R2 :P
Now comes the waiting game hehe

Hello! I am a returning customer that bought from DS about 6 years ago and my comp is still running strong! However, I think it is time for an upgrade. I have been looking at either getting the ODE level 3 or level 4. But I have a few questions before I take the plunge.
What is the major difference between the ODE 3 and 4? The GPU? If so is it a noticeable difference?
Also, is the ODE 3 and 4 a limited time offer or is it a new product line for DS?

ode 4 has 590 gtx which you don't want. sli 570 will do better then 590 and there are many other reasons to not go with 590.
they are gonna be around and are not limited offer, tho as new cpu and platforms come out, I assume the specs will change.

The front fan isn't removed in the ODE? Could you explain what made you think it was?

I've been researching so much that I don't remember where I read the "the 200mm upper fan sucks the air from the front grill" so i thought that there was no fan...my bad...happy to hear that there is one. Your responding to these questions is great and one of the reasons I'm buying from DS...

ryan06emu,I have ode3 for over 2 months now and it ROCKS. I still can't over how fast this rig is. And for gaming bf3 and cod3 I have the settings max out and no problems, the ode3 handles them with ease. I think tou will be more than happy with it. ENJOY

I recently received delivery of my new ODE Level 0 and couldn't be happier with the computer and buying experience.
I sent a friend here to the DS website to checkout the specs on the ODE Level 0 and it wasn't there. Did I miss something? Have they removed the Level 0 build? Did the pricing structure go up? I would understand that because from what I saw I could not get the components that matched the ODE level 0 for anywhere near the price of what DS had put it together for me.
Thanks again for such a pleasant experience

Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad to see that you're happy with the system. We no longer list it on our website, as we replaced it with a slot for the ODE Level 4. if you're interested in having your friend purchase it, please have your friend contact us directly and we'll help him/her out.

Question about the new ODE 4.
I was told here that Win7 Home Premium is limited to 16GB, which includes VRAM.
I see ODE 4 has 16GB RAM and tri-SLI GTX 570 1.2GB. Wouldn't it need to have Win7 Pro (or better) to fully utilize the RAM?

As you can see below, in the task manager, the performance tab shows 16GB of memory available, and we were able to use all of it with LinX (stress testing tool). In addition, you will see that it shows the Windows version to be Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thanks for the clarification Alex! I've been following the thread that started in the config section about this too. I guess the limit calculation changed since the old days.
