Hi guys, I plan to purchase the Bolt 2 and wanted to know if i should let the company do the overclocking, or if I should just figure out how to do it myself, and what I'm specifically missing if I just do it by myself?  I noticed that there were other configurations like cleaning up windows with all the bloatware and non-essentials tasks, that I myself would rather do(but can understand if someone doesn't wanna do that and spend the extra dosh :D )

1. $2000

2.  Quiet, Powerful, able to run most games on high or above

3.  I don't plan to do anything too crazy like, run two mmo clients at once, but I'd be comfortable if it can do that.  I plan to get into games like Everquest Next and Star Citizen, and don't wanna go medium on any of those games.

4.I do want to achieve the highest overclock within reason.  I plan to put in another card using my student funds(not loans, no, don't wanna get into that yet :( ) let's say, 6-7 months down the line?  So It won't kill me if the life span of the card is shortened to even a year's worth.  It's the other hardware that I want lasting.

If you do it yourself you run the risk of screwing your computer up. If you let DS do it, you know that Ds will know what they are doing and will do it right. Welcome to DS by the way.

You can certainly do your own overclocking, but for the $45, DS does it and supports it if you get stability issues. If you do your own and need help, DS charges.

I'd go for their oc and be done with it.

Alright guys, I will definitely let Digital Storm overlock the gpu for me :D  Now I want to talk about the cpu.  Since we're not allowed to link stuff, I'll just give you guys the reference video's title on youtube, but basically, am I able to get the same performance out of that video, or even better, if I just stick with the first option cpu that the bolt 2 has?

Video title: Skyrim on a GTX 760 (RealVision ENB)

I didn't see any mention of the monitor resolution being used, which matters a lot, but the Bolt level 1 with its gtx 760 on a 1920x1080 monitor will have no problem with Skyrim.   It'll play real nice.

Even with enb on? Because I mainly look for gpu's when I'm looking for computers, I honestly have barely any insight on cpu's other than they're a nice buffer zone for performance, I think, haha, but they can also kill you and introduce bottlenecks if you're not careful with what kind you pick.

Texture mods do add to the workload in Skyrim. The 760 would work or go 770 for another 20% bump in performance or the 780 if the added vram is needed.    Texture does suck it up, but 2gb vram should do it on the 1920x1080.

Cpu bottleneck is overstated in most cases. A modern i5 cpu like Haswell will play nice with any graphics card.

If you are going to overclock your pc, you better know what you are doing. Don't want to fry anything.

All I'm saying is this:

Overclocking is easy... but check it.

DS overclocks the cpu, applies too much voltage and fries. They swap it out for another cpu from this huge box of supply and go again.

You overclock your cpu, apply too much voltage and fry it. Oh? Didn't pay for protection from Intel? That's cool... that $45 you could have paid is now going to cost you several hundred+.

Blame. Logic.
