I've looked at the multitude of shipping options DS offers, and if I'm looking to drop several grand on a new rig, I am supremely confident in Digital Storm's stress-testing and packing expertise. But once it leaves their building, it's out of their hands.
So in your experience, what is the shipping method that keeps the box and system within safest? |

Hi milesprower06..... Freight Delivery. The shipping box is strapped to a pallet for the trip to your door. Recommended for $5000 and up , especially a water cooled rig. Prevents the box alone from being thrown around.

I used USPS and the box came in decent condition. The rig arrived without any issues. Mine cost a couple of grand.

Absolutely safest is "Will Call". Other than that, yes, Freight Delivery where, as bprat says, its on its own pallet. Kind of difficult to toss around a box when its tied down.
Having said that, please realize the freight delivery will also be the slowest. One reason is that these deliveries only ship on Friday, whereas UPS or FedEx ship every (other) day. The faster the delivery, the better chance the freight has been mishandled when it comes to boxed freight. I can't tell you how many times I've seen RUSH Freight thrown from one container to another. |
