Hi all, I have a rig question. If you were me would you build a new rig or just update part which & why. Keep in mind that the only game I play is SimCity 2013, All of the Total War Series, and The Sims 3. All help is appreciated and Thank you very much.

Are you having any performance issues? No reason to fix what ain't broken. Hahaha

If so, what resolution do you game at?

My initial reaction would probably be to just upgrade the GPU, rather than buy an entirely new rig. But again, this depends on what sort of expectations you have as far as graphic settings, FPS, and also resolution.

Also depends on the budget.   The gtx 960 for about $210 will give you roughly a 50% boost in gaming.  Not all games , but in general.   For about $350, the gtx 970 will double your gaming performance over the gtx 570.   The 960/970 will also give your psu a big break on wattage needed, not that you don't have plenty.      Very efficient cards.

Your cpu is still very good.

HI Joel,

As all ready stated, you still have a very good system. The 2600K is a solid CPU. If it was my system I would get a new 970 GPU and be happy for a good while to come. If you decide later on to buy another computer you could use your 970 in SLI. That is, order your system with a 970 and then add the second 970 in SLI at home.

As others said your system isn't bad for now.

Maybe upgrade the video card for now and later if necessary and everything else works fine you can get a MB/CPU as a set pretty cheap or pretty expensive depending on your choice.
