This game is shaping up to become something amazing! Not groundbreaking as far as traditional mmo playstile is concerned, but the RIFT system and class system is something to be reckoned with!

Friend of mine mentioned Rift to me, and I have to say that I am very impressed. I was a little leary of another fantasy mmo, as I already play WoW, but this game looks to offer something new. I love the class system, and dynamic events design. The class system has my head spinning atm, as to what to role first. There are so many options.
We should get a guild / group goin at launch. Guardians or Defiants? PVE or PVP? I'm down like four flats.

Playing in Beta event 5 and I must say I'm at level 11 right now and it looks very polished for still being in beta phases. The rifts that spawn are very dynamic and add a nice touch of randomness to the leveling experience. I really enjoy the game play so far and the ease of which you can join players groups is a very nice touch.

The Rifts make the game really fun for me, I have a Warden/Druid and must say that even though I am a healer I can still put out the dps. Really looking forward to release, though now I need to upgrade the PC to play it.

Yeah I really like the rifts too. I'm also healing with a warden/pur/sent build and really liking it. Hoping to get into the 20s tonight and try some dungeons out.

Awesome, I hit 10 last night but doubt I will get 20 tonight. Have you tried anything other than healer? My wife has been playing a Necro/Warlock/pyro and she has been destroying things left and right.

Come launch I believe I am going to roll Guardian. Why? Because, most people tend to roll Defiant. I am also going to roll on a PvP server. Lol, it's a no brainer for me. Also, I'm a cleric. However I have been playing around with Warden/Cabalist hybrids and Sentinel/Cablist hybrid's. And I have to say, I can put out AoE dps like crazy when people bunch up.
Aci11i3s did you roll a toon on Seastone?

I have also been playing in Beta 5 and since I love it so much I pre-ordered so now I get to participate in the rest of the betas. This game has alot of things I love about WoW/DAoC/WAR all rolled into one. There is so much to do and it doesn't involve the boring grind that WoW does.
I have a lvl 20 Rogue so now I'm working on a Warrior to see if I like that.

I created a Pally/Void/Warlord last night and got him to 9, I must say the defensive tanks in this game are fun. Not sure about tanking for a group yet, we shall see tonight I hope.
Also got the healer to 16, overall very fun game going to pre-order this weekend I think.

Hey guys, I played the beta and have already preordered. I am looking at purchasing a new computer from DS, with RIFT in mind. That being said, I would like to run the game at the max setting in all situations (during raids, rift events, etc). I am deciding on a graphics card that would be capable, yet affordable. I have ruled out the GTX 580 as its price is high and it may be overkill... My decision is between the new GTX 560 and the 570... Basically, if a 560 could do it combined with the new sandy bridge cpu (o.c. 4.0 - 4.7) then that would be fantastic. What graphic settings are you all running on? Could you guys let me know the settings you play at, FPS you get, resolution you play at, and finally what graphics card you are using! That would be a huge help in my decision! Thanks!

Just to give you a heads up.....I play at 1920X1080 res and with the GTX 580, I have settings cranked up to ultra on RIFT and I hover between 25-30fps. This game is definitely taxing my system which is surprising. If I bump settings up to "High" I can maintain 60fps. Something you might want to think about. Rest of my computer specs are in my sig to give you an idea.

Well, I already ordered so nothing I can do about it now. I ended up going with a GTX 570 Evga superclocked. So, I guess I will be playing it on high then... Kinda dumb you need the single best card to run the game max. The graphics are good, but not that good compared to others I have seen.

It could be an issue with the game being in Beta aswell, I have read reports of people running older cards and still having 60 fps. So cause its a wait till launch kinda thing.

Yeah, it has to be that. When a few other people are running the game on ultra with a GTX 460 at around 30FPS. . . That just does not make much sense. I am hoping they will optimize everything within the next couple weeks before the head-start.

Not quite sure Justin. I'm hoping that since the game is still in Beta they will work it out. I would expect the GTX 580 to do better. The game is beautiful, but I have seen better looking games and got better fps.

Well I was running the Rift Beta on my wife computer which has a 460 in it and I got 20-30 fps in the starting area but once I moved out and into the world more I was getting 55-60 fps. I'm assuming its the beta servers not being able to handle the load, we shall see once the beta stress testing starts cause then they should have us on the regular gaming servers.

The last test they did was the first stress test of the systems. There is a test coming up Friday the 4th to Monday. I am not sure if they are still stress testing it or not for this test.

Will be interesting to see. I pre-ordered the game so I'm in all the rest of the betas. We'll see if tomorrow anything has changed.

Let me know how your frame rates are in this Beta. I got my invite but don't have a computer that is capable of playing it yet. Is the head start on the 21st onward?

Ok so they have definitely fixed alot of issues. With the same settings I now sit at 60fps. They were stress testing and started opening major rifts EVERYWHERE. I was in a huge group and fps dropped down to about 40 or so. Much better than it was before. I think they will polish it up right before release.

Yes this beta was much more polished than the previous ones, FPS was solid 50-60 no matter where I was. Now the only thing I am concerned about is the amount of options you have with classes. I play a healer and some of the tanks I was grouping with were more dps than tanks. While I don't like to tell people how to play, if your going to advertise yourself as a tank please have most of your points in a tanking tree.

Very nice, I am looking forward to starting soon. I also was curious to see how the class balance would all play out considering the diverse options available to the player base. I think the choices are a good thing, however, as you pointed out Zipter, it could be bad at worst or annoying at best.

We shall see, I am thinking (really crossing fingers) that people will settle down with the builds once live hits. I really like the freedom they give you but depending on how it goes could be a deal breaker.

Yeah I am still kinda overwhelmed with all of the options. I think I have finally settled on a Rogue with MM/Ranger/Sabo as my souls. I have seen some Rogues tank which was pretty crazy since they are rogues lol. I hope that once the game goes live, people will settle down with the builds.

The choices are awesome, I love being able to choose how I want to play my healer. My wife plays a Warlock/Necro and loves it, but even she has had trouble with tanks and healers not being able to fulfill the rolls because the gimped themselves with dps talents.

Was really enjoying the beta. Got a new *COUGH Alienware COUGH* and then it self destructed after one week. After all the Sandy Bridge drama of the past week, I finally decided on a new DS system with one of the forbidden AMD Phenom II X4 chips. Got a GTX 460 in there as well, so don't expect any issues with Rift. Hopefully the rest of you have better luck with your hardware playing Rift then I did!!

That sucks, my wife plays on a 4 year-old Alienware desktop, but she will soon get my laptop so I can get a new DS rig.

Just picked up my new DS system today...last Rift Beta (Open Beta) is starting tomorrow at 10am PST. I won't be able to play for a bit later, but anyone interested in perhaps making a casual guild? Let me know.
I'll post pics/my review later this week :-D
