Hi all:
Just wanted to say hi to the DSO community and say that I am so happy with my ODE 3! Even though the wait increased to 5 - 10 days it still was produced and shipped in decent time with no problems. Upon arrival everything was good except a few wire that got loose during shipping, no doubt. My only "regret" is now I want to customize another rig... Thanks so much!! |

Awesome, glad to see that you're happy with the system. Could you post some pics with a short review? If you can, that would be awesome and we can move your thread to the "Customer Reviews" section.

I suddenly feel the need to post pics and a review. Thanks for being patient everyone! Ordering was a breeze and the rig was shipped in 5 business days. It arrived in an enormous box. It was packed well, but even with the foam in the case, some bits were loose from shipment. Easy fix. Build quality is great and a thing of beauty. Just solve that wire out in back to get the USB3 to the front of the machine...Everything else is pretty tidy. You want the specs...it's a pre-build, so nothing new here... Also, I dont have any fancy benchmark software installed. So this will be a bit subjective. Don't hate... Setup was easy. Powered up I sat to wait until Win 7 booted and was surprised by how fast the boot was. My laptop has a C300 SSD, but this was much faster. Even loading from the HDD was faster than I expected. I also noticed that at idle the fans were NOT like a jet turbine. It is my first liquid cooled CPU and I am not going back. OC'd to 4.5Ghz. The CPU core temp was 27C-30C idle and 100% load using prime95 (blend) was 58C-61C. The fans under load revved up, loud... but were still not too bad. I mean this thing was meant to be a beast not a ninja. My setup includes a 1920 x 1080 24" viewsonic VX2453MH. So how are the games? Here are some where I can get you numbers (in FPS) Shogun 2 (1080p): max FPS around 200 and ave FPS 103 Crysis (high, 4XAA): 88 Farcry2 (v. high, 4xAA): 219 metro 2033 (DX11, v. high):43 There is no game I have that this thing didn't take care of. DX10, DX11, mahjong. Made me noticed just how choppy games were on anything else I have used in the past. I am happy I sold my 2 year old gaming rig from another vendor. Things got annoying wen the fans on the dual 570s kicked in, usually after about 5 minutes of intense play. So will LC graphics cards be in my next setup? Maybe. For now I'll just turn up my speakers. Emailed about the OC and the cooler module and got prompt courteous answers. I also have money left to eat and buy Skyrim. So I am happy. |
