Lol, I guess those who have it are too absorbed to make a thread about it :p. This game is blowing my mind so far and I only have 4 hours clocked in. I have been quite busy, but I'm about to dive back in. If you were thinking about purchasing this one, do it!

I have a few big projects due at work and since much of what I do flows into my home time, I must resist the urge to purchase Skyrim, but come December 17th..ish, I will be all over this game.

game is great, only thing is once and awhile the game just crashes to the desktop, most likely has somethin to do with steam ( god i hate steam nothin but problems with every game) besides tht this game is pretty mind blowing, graphics are nice, and just endless game play really..

I have over 40 hours played now on my new ODE 3 system with all setting maxed out on a 30" dell monitor 2650 x 1600 and it is great, no lag at all. As has been stated I do get some CDT's but I just expect that with all new games any more. Set autosave for 10 minutes:-) Well worth buying if you have a good rig and want better graphic than the consoles give you (and yes I have a PS3 and bought Skyrim for it too, no comparison)

There is no problem so big or complicated that it cannot be run away from.

Yup. Still just randomly crashes during game play. I turned everything up on my box turned all the settings to max and wow it's pretty. Playing at 2560x1600 on a single 570 card. :)

Haven't had any crashes during gameplay, but some longterm gaming friends of mine have had the crashing issue.
As far as this game is concerned. WOW...I have been playing video games ever since my Atari and Commodore, and just when I think that I've played it all, a game like this comes out and blows my hair back. Very well done, and looks amazing on my DS rig.

Becoming a werewolf in this game...PRICELESS!
I don't know if I've ever enjoyed a game more, and I'm sure you can find other posts from me on other games saying how happy I am with that game at that time, but this one is just different. I have access to another beta test this weekend for swtor, and I don't think that I'm going to play it so I can stay in Skyrim. Only in Skyrim, can I flirt, get married, buy a house to hide my stolen and earned possesions, become a werewolf, ride anywhere, kill anything, play tag, win drinking games, get in bar fights, hunt elk and mammoths, piss off giants with arrows to the face, feed off corpses, ransack a temple, run dungeons, kill dragons, all the while; saving the world, lvl'n up, and getting better gear. And that's just in one night! Did I mention, saving a woman from being stabbed, becoming the undead, fighting off a team of hired hitmen, and robbing a castle blind. Simply, if you haven't played it...it's the sh!t

Well I finally picked this up, I've had a chance to play it for.. maybe.. 50 minutes I'm hoping to get in some more time come Saturday, finally getting a big contract done at work! Thus far I'm pretty impressed by how quickly the community is rolling out mods, even without the official editor yet. I don't recall it being so rapid for Oblivion and Morrowind, though that's probably just situational bias

Awesome game (only 10 hours in though) but I wish it took advantage of the ODE 3's 8GB of RAM...

Load some HD Texture Packs, that will keep eat up some more of your RAM if you have a lot to spare

Well, I use Skyrim Nexus, I'm not sure if they have a paid version or what, but I have a free account and can download anything and everything. I'm pretty sure you should be able to download any mods that are under a certain file size without even having a free account.
But yes, Skyrim Nexus has a plethora of mods, and all the ones I am currently running come from there.

Does anybody know what Skyrim Nexus mod are best to download? Looking for the best overall mod for visuals. Is there any mods that add more gore?

I highly recommend browsing the top 100 at the Nexus, just look for ones that sound interesting to you. The only mod I know of currently that really increases the blood effects is the better blood textures mod, which doesn't really increase the gore so much as make it more realistic. Though, I'm very likely wrong, since there are 100s and 100s of mods already.
