Interesting. Wonder whether it's worth waiting for these cards, or waiting for them to release to see a potential price drop on the 700 line.

Either way, exciting stuff!!

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

If it is a timing issue and you feel you really want to go now, go now. From what I have seen rumor has it that the 900 series will be about 10% faster then the current generation. If nothing else, the prices on the 700 series cards should go down when these are released.

These are going to be made with the same process as the Kepler GPUs. Next year we will hopefully see Maxwell GPUs on a smaller process, which should help. The problem that Nvidia has (and AMD too), is that their fab partner TSMC isn't doing well with the current die size they are trying to work at. TSMC can produce low performance chips with the smaller size, but not the high performance chips like GPUs. I think it might make sense for Nvidia to start considering switching to Intel as a fab partner.

I wonder what will happen after 900s, if they keep going up sequentially then at some point our ancestors will see GTX 1,000,000s. Big%20Smile

Only when our counting thread gets to 1,000,000.

Is to recognize thyself as thy 1st enemy.
