Topic: Processing/Shipment Question Posted: 23 Jul 2014 at 9:50am |
Hi all,
I will be purchasing a Vanquish 2 Level 3, and I need some advice in when i should order the computer. I would need my computer to arrive at my home (I live in Cincinnati, Ohio) on August 12-13, as those are the two days I will be available to receive it, and would like to find out what the optimal date to actually order my computer would be so that it arrives on this date. I estimated that if I order on 8/1/14(Friday the First of August), then it will be processed that day and then on 8/4/14 - 8/6/14 will be built. After that it is a guess at how long it will take to ship, and I estimated 6-7 days since I live In Ohio and California is, well, on the other side of the country. Anyways, that's what date I estimated I should order my computer on (8/1/14), and I was wondering if anyone could help me by confirming with their own experience with digital storm's vanquish 2 and the shipment time, or recommend a different date. Thanks for any help I can get!! |

Can't give you a date to order, but the Vanquish normally ship within 3 days, weekends not included. Give it another day or so for payment processing and then the shipping travel time. DS ground shipping option is 5 business days, add in the weekend, from coast to coast. I live in New England and it took 7 days, with the weekend in between. Ohio is probably of 4-5 business days, but that is a guess, depending on carrier delivery in your area.
DS might be able to pinpoint it more for you. Edited by bprat22 - 23 Jul 2014 at 9:58am |

Another option some have used when being home is a problem , is to have the rig sent to a local UPS/FedEx office or your place of business.

Two other options.
1) order to receive at the nearest UPS store. They're everywhere and will hold UPS shipments. 2) specify delivery date / hold date on the order. Way back when I was dealing directly with UPS they had a "hold" program. You would have to speak directly with UPS Customer service I believe. (Granted, this was many moons ago...) I've just checked UPS.com and found http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/service/delivery_change.html Delivery change. Good place to get started. |

Thanks all for replies.
I think I will order my shipment to be held at the nearest UPS store to me. Thank you both for the suggestion. Just to make sure though, I will be choosing the cheapest option for shipping, which is Ground, so are all shipments from Digital Storm Handled by UPS? |

Or to track it, and can you have it delivered to a Fedex Store?

Yes. I tracked it across country, but it did spend a couple of days with no update. Delivery dates are usually accurate, regardless of the tracking.
There was an option online to hold it at a local office but I've never done it. Edited by bprat22 - 23 Jul 2014 at 1:16pm |

Mine was picked up by CRST truck, and delivered on a Overnite Truck. And DS said it was going Federal Express.

Mine is in transit, but the Fedex site has not updated in over a day. My advice is order it and have it shipped to work or have them hold it at your local fedex office. Good luck

It could be coming by rail, which to me is the BEST way to have the PC travel.
